국내 대표 호스피탈리티 테크 기업 H2O호스피탈리티(대표 이웅희)가 19일 아랍에미리트연합(UAE) 국가 블록체인 프로젝트에 핵심 파트너로 참여하게 됐다고 밝혔다.
H2O는 아부다비 기반 블록체인 인프라를 구축 중인 ‘ADI 재단’과 파트너십 계약을 체결했다. 이번 계약으로 H2O는 ADI 체인의 여행 및 소비자 부문 주요 전략적 파트너(Primary Strategic Partner for the Travel and Consumer Sectors)로 선정됐다.
ADI 재단은 자산 규모 2,400억 달러 규모의 중동 최대 지주회사 IHC의 기술 자회사인 시리우스 인터내셔널 홀딩이 설립한 재단이다. UAE는 올해 초 중앙은행 규제 하에 ADI 체인 기반 디르함(AED) 연동 스테이블코인 발행 계획을 발표했으며, UAE 최대 은행 FAB가 스테이블코인을 발행하고 IHC가 파트너로 참여하고 있다.
계약에 따라 H2O는 UAE를 찾는 글로벌 관광객을 대상으로 ‘비수탁형 모바일 월렛’을 발행하고, 스마트 체크인 시스템에 ADI 체인 솔루션을 통합한다. 이를 통해 관광객들은 스테이블코인을 손쉽게 접근하고 사용할 수 있으며, 여행 전 과정 데이터를 블록체인 상에서 연결할 수 있다.
UAE 연간 외국인 관광객 환전 수요는 약 2,173억 디르함(한화 약 87조 원)에 달하며, 현지 환전 수수료는 5%에 달한다. 이번 프로젝트는 환전 부담을 줄이고 관광 산업 활성화를 목표로 한다.
H2O는 이번 협력을 통해 핀테크와 데이터가 결합된 새로운 수익 모델을 확보하며, 모바일 월렛 개발에는 글로벌 웹3 투자사 해시드(Hashed)가 공동 참여한다.
H2O 이웅희 대표는 “UAE 핵심 디지털 자산 프로젝트에 참여하게 되어 영광”이라며 “관광객이 기술을 이해하지 않아도 편리하게 스테이블코인을 사용할 수 있는 인프라를 구축하겠다”고 말했다. ADI 재단 아자이 바티아 이사회 의장은 “H2O와의 협력으로 수백만 명이 UAE 디지털 경제에 참여할 수 있을 것”이라고 밝혔다.

H2O Hospitality Joins UAE Stablecoin Project
H2O Hospitality (CEO Woonghee Lee) , a leading domestic hospitality tech company, announced on the 19th that it will participate as a key partner in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) national blockchain project.
H2O has signed a partnership agreement with the Abu Dhabi-based ADI Foundation, which is building blockchain infrastructure. This agreement designates H2O as ADI Chain's Primary Strategic Partner for the Travel and Consumer Sectors.
The ADI Foundation was established by Sirius International Holding, the technology subsidiary of IHC, the largest holding company in the Middle East with assets of $240 billion. Earlier this year, the UAE announced plans to issue a dirham (AED)-pegged stablecoin based on the ADI Chain, subject to central bank regulations. FAB, the UAE's largest bank, is issuing the stablecoin, with IHC participating as a partner.
Under the agreement, H2O will issue a "non-custodial mobile wallet" for global tourists visiting the UAE and integrate ADI Chain's solution into its smart check-in system. This will allow tourists to easily access and use stablecoins and connect their entire travel journey data on the blockchain.
Foreign tourists in the UAE spend approximately 217.3 billion dirhams (approximately 87 trillion won) annually on currency exchange, with local exchange fees reaching 5%. This project aims to reduce the burden of currency exchange and revitalize the tourism industry.
Through this collaboration, H2O will secure a new revenue model that combines fintech and data, and global web3 investment firm Hashed will jointly participate in the development of the mobile wallet.
H2O CEO Lee Woong-hee said, "We are honored to participate in the UAE's core digital asset project. We will build infrastructure that allows tourists to conveniently use stablecoins without having to understand the technology." Ajay Bhatia, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the ADI Foundation, stated, "Our collaboration with H2O will enable millions of people to participate in the UAE's digital economy."

H2Oは今回の協力を通じてフィンテックとデータが結合された新しい収益モデルを確保し、モバイルウォレットの開発にはグローバルWeb3投資会社ハッシュド(Hashed)が共同参加する。
H2Oイ・ウンヒ代表は「UAEコアデジタル資産プロジェクトに参加することになって栄光」とし「観光客が技術を理解しなくても便利にステープルコインを使用できるインフラを構築する」と話した。 ADI財団のアザイ・バティア理事会議長は「H2Oとの協力で数百万人がUAEデジタル経済に参加できるだろう」と明らかにした。

H2O a signé un accord de partenariat avec la Fondation ADI, basée à Abou Dhabi et spécialisée dans le développement d'infrastructures blockchain. Cet accord désigne H2O comme partenaire stratégique principal d'ADI Chain pour les secteurs du voyage et de la consommation.

Les touristes pourront ainsi accéder facilement aux stablecoins, les utiliser et connecter l'intégralité des données de leur voyage sur la blockchain.
Les touristes étrangers aux Émirats arabes unis dépensent chaque année environ 217,3 milliards de dirhams (environ 87 billions de wons) en change de devises, les frais de change locaux atteignant 5 %. Ce projet vise à réduire ces frais et à revitaliser le secteur du tourisme.
Grâce à cette collaboration, H2O se dotera d'un nouveau modèle de revenus combinant fintech et données, et la société d'investissement mondiale web3 Hashed participera conjointement au développement du portefeuille mobile.
Lee Woong-hee, PDG de H2O, a déclaré : « Nous sommes honorés de participer au projet phare des Émirats arabes unis en matière d’actifs numériques. Nous mettrons en place une infrastructure permettant aux touristes d’utiliser facilement les stablecoins sans avoir à comprendre la technologie. » Ajay Bhatia, président du conseil d’administration de la Fondation ADI, a affirmé : « Notre collaboration avec H2O permettra à des millions de personnes de participer à l’économie numérique des Émirats arabes unis. »
