HD현대일렉트릭이 차세대 전력 기술 확보를 위한 오픈이노베이션 프로그램 ‘파워업 HDE(PowerUp HDE)’ 1기 스타트업 9개사를 최종 선발했다고 12일 밝혔다.
‘파워업 HDE’는 글로벌 전력 수요 증가와 산업 구조 변화에 대응하기 위해 유망 스타트업을 발굴·육성하는 프로그램으로, 딥테크 액셀러레이터 블루포인트파트너스와 글로벌 오픈이노베이션 플랫폼 플러그앤플레이가 공동 운영을 맡고 있다.
1기 국내 팀 선발에는 총 113개 팀이 지원해 19대 1의 경쟁률을 기록했다. 프로그램은 차세대 전력 기술, 친환경 에너지, 디지털 전환 등 미래 전력 산업 핵심 분야에서 기술 혁신 가능성을 보유한 스타트업을 중심으로 선발을 진행했다.
해외 팀 선발은 HD현대일렉트릭과의 실증(PoC) 및 파트너십을 희망하는 글로벌 에너지 스타트업을 대상으로 이뤄졌다. HD현대일렉트릭 임원 및 실무진은 지난 6월 플러그앤플레이 실리콘밸리 서밋에 참석해 기술 피칭과 개별 미팅을 진행했으며, 이후 기술 적합성과 사업 연계성을 종합 검토해 해외 스타트업 3개사를 선정했다.
최종 선발된 기업은 ▲전기 사고 예지보전용 전류센서 기업 ‘이지코리아’ ▲복사냉각 기반 무전원 냉각 기술 기업 ‘포엘’ ▲전력기기 열관리 솔루션 기업 ‘저크’ ▲AI 제어 기반 열관리 시스템 기업 ‘에스씨에스’ ▲나트륨이온전지 및 ESS 기술 기업 ‘에버인더스’ ▲드론 기반 재고·시설 점검 기업 ‘비거라지’ ▲플로우 배터리 기술 기업 ‘엑스엘 배터리즈(미국)’ ▲AI·IoT 기반 예지보전 기업 ‘노비티(미국)’ ▲전력변환 연계 제어 기술 기업 ‘아이오네이트(영국)’ 등 총 9개사다.
선발 기업에는 약 5개월간 PoC 중심의 액셀러레이팅 프로그램이 제공된다. HD현대일렉트릭 전담 태스크포스(TF)와 함께 실제 사업 환경에서 실증을 수행하며, 개발비 지원, 사내 테스트베드 및 엔지니어링 인프라 활용, 공동 개발 기회, 후속 투자 및 장기 파트너십 검토 등의 지원을 받게 된다.
블루포인트파트너스는 국내 스타트업 선발과 액셀러레이팅 전 과정을 총괄하며, 플러그앤플레이는 글로벌 스타트업 발굴과 해외 기술 검증, 협력 연계를 지원한다.

HD Hyundai Electric Selects Nine Startups for its First "Power Up HDE" Program
HD Hyundai Electric announced on the 12th that it has selected nine startups for the first batch of its open innovation program, 'PowerUp HDE', to secure next-generation power technology.
'Power Up HDE' is a program that discovers and nurtures promising startups to respond to the increasing global demand for electricity and changes in industrial structure. It is jointly operated by deep tech accelerator Blue Point Partners and global open innovation platform Plug and Play.
A total of 113 teams applied for the first round of domestic team selection, resulting in a competition rate of 19 to 1. The program focused on startups with potential for technological innovation in key areas of the future power industry, including next-generation power technology, eco-friendly energy, and digital transformation.
The overseas team selection process targeted global energy startups seeking proof-of-concept (PoC) and partnerships with HD Hyundai Electric. HD Hyundai Electric executives and staff attended the Plug and Play Silicon Valley Summit in June, where they pitched their technologies and held individual meetings. After a comprehensive review of technological suitability and business relevance, three overseas startups were selected.
The final selected companies are ▲Easy Korea, a current sensor company for electrical accident predictive maintenance ▲POEL, a company with radiant cooling-based power-free cooling technology ▲Zerk, a company with thermal management solutions for power equipment ▲SCS, a company with AI control-based thermal management systems ▲EverIndus, a company with sodium-ion batteries and ESS technology ▲Bigarage, a company with drone-based inventory and facility inspection ▲XL Batteries (USA), a company with flow battery technology ▲Novity (USA), an AI and IoT-based predictive maintenance company ▲Ionate (UK), a company with power conversion-linked control technology, for a total of nine companies.
Selected companies will be provided with a five-month, PoC-focused accelerator program. They will conduct validation studies in real-world business environments with a dedicated HD Hyundai Electric task force (TF). They will receive support including development funding, access to in-house testbeds and engineering infrastructure, joint development opportunities, follow-up investment, and long-term partnership considerations.
Bluepoint Partners oversees the entire process of selecting and accelerating domestic startups, while Plug and Play supports global startup discovery, overseas technology verification, and collaboration.
Kim Young-ki, CEO of HD Hyundai Electric, said, “Collaboration with startups is important to respond to the changing environment of the electric power industry,” and added, “We will continue to provide support so that technologies and ideas can be implemented in actual industrial settings.”

HD Hyundai Electric a annoncé le 12 avoir sélectionné neuf start-ups pour la première promotion de son programme d'innovation ouverte, « PowerUp HDE », afin de garantir l'accès aux technologies énergétiques de nouvelle génération.
« Power Up HDE » est un programme qui repère et accompagne des startups prometteuses afin de répondre à la demande mondiale croissante d'électricité et aux mutations du secteur industriel. Il est géré conjointement par l'accélérateur de startups deep tech Blue Point Partners et la plateforme mondiale d'innovation ouverte Plug and Play.
Au total, 113 équipes ont postulé pour le premier tour de sélection des équipes nationales, ce qui représente un ratio de 19 équipes retenues pour 1 équipe sélectionnée. Le programme était axé sur les startups ayant un potentiel d'innovation technologique dans des domaines clés de l'avenir de l'industrie énergétique, notamment les technologies énergétiques de nouvelle génération, les énergies écologiques et la transformation numérique.
Le processus de sélection de l'équipe internationale ciblait des startups énergétiques mondiales souhaitant valider leur concept et nouer des partenariats avec HD Hyundai Electric. Les dirigeants et employés de HD Hyundai Electric ont participé au Plug and Play Silicon Valley Summit en juin, où ils ont présenté leurs technologies et tenu des réunions individuelles. Après un examen approfondi de leur adéquation technologique et de leur pertinence commerciale, trois startups internationales ont été sélectionnées.
Les entreprises finalement sélectionnées sont : ▲Easy Korea, une entreprise de capteurs de courant pour la maintenance prédictive des accidents électriques ; ▲POEL, une entreprise proposant une technologie de refroidissement sans énergie basée sur le refroidissement radiant ; ▲Zerk, une entreprise proposant des solutions de gestion thermique pour les équipements électriques ; ▲SCS, une entreprise proposant des systèmes de gestion thermique basés sur le contrôle par IA ; ▲EverIndus, une entreprise proposant des batteries sodium-ion et la technologie ESS ; ▲Bigarage, une entreprise proposant l’inventaire et l’inspection des installations par drone ; ▲XL Batteries (États-Unis), une entreprise proposant la technologie des batteries à flux ; ▲Novity (États-Unis), une entreprise de maintenance prédictive basée sur l’IA et l’IoT ; ▲Ionate (Royaume-Uni), une entreprise proposant une technologie de contrôle liée à la conversion de puissance, pour un total de neuf entreprises.
Les entreprises sélectionnées bénéficieront d'un programme d'accélération de cinq mois axé sur la validation de concept. Elles mèneront des études de validation en conditions réelles d'exploitation, avec l'aide d'une équipe dédiée de HD Hyundai Electric. Elles recevront un soutien comprenant un financement du développement, l'accès à des bancs d'essai et à une infrastructure d'ingénierie internes, des opportunités de développement conjoint, des investissements de suivi et des perspectives de partenariat à long terme.
Bluepoint Partners supervise l'ensemble du processus de sélection et d'accélération des startups nationales, tandis que Plug and Play soutient la découverte de startups mondiales, la vérification des technologies à l'étranger et la collaboration.
