SK Telecom has opened its “T open lab“, a place where developers can reduce developing costs and create new ideas through SK’s research and development infrastructure.
“T open lab” is on the first floor of SK’s Institute of Technology in Bundang, Gyeonggido and offers a space of 660m² to small to mid-sized businesses, and individual developers who don’t have adequate development and test facilities. It will also offer….

….plus a space for companies and developers to improve practical finances and technical competitiveness.
‘T open lab’ consists of a test and shield room for combined wire-wireless testing and connections, a project room, seminar room where companies can exchange ideas with R&D staff and an open cafe. The test room and shield rooms which are used by communications companies to test networks, test beds and connections, has been opened up so companies can carry out R&D on their technology. Additionally, SK Telecom will provide around 200 brand new smartphones and 20 measuring instruments for free via reservation to companies that would generally have trouble purchasing such items.
Also, a chance to exchange ideas directly with SK Telecom’s R&D experts online has been set up.
1) If companies or individual developers have an idea for technology or business, these can be submitted via the homepage.
2 ) After SK Telecom’s technical experts review the ideas, support will be offered to help commercialize and realize selected.
To use T open lab, users need to sign up via the website where they can also reserve facilities and equipment for use.

SK텔레콤은 자사가 보유한 연구개발 인프라 제공을 통해 협력사들과 개인 개발자들이 연구개발 비용 부담을 줄이고 창의적인 아이디어를 함께 만들어 나갈 수 있는 열린 공간인 ‘T 오픈랩(T open lab)‘을 개관했다.
경기도 분당에 위치한 SK텔레콤 종합기술원 건물 1층에 위치한 ‘T 오픈랩’은 660m²(약 200평) 규모로, 자체 개발 및 시험 환경이 부족한 중소 협력사 및 개인 개발자들에게

등을 통해 이들이 경제적 실익과 기술 경쟁력을 향상시킬 수 있도록 기획된 공간이다.
‘T 오픈랩’은 SK텔레콤이 보유하고 있는 유무선 테스트베드와 연동하여 시험이 가능한 테스트룸과 쉴드룸, 협력사가 자유롭게 사용할 수 있는3개의 프로젝트룸, SK텔레콤의 R&D 전문 인력과 교류할 수 있는 공간인 세미나실과 오픈 카페 등으로 구성되어 있다. 테스트룸 및 쉴드룸의 경우 통신사가 보유하고 있는 네트워크 관련 테스트 베드와 연동하여 외부 협력사가 기술개발을 할 수 있도록 개방하였다. 또한, SK텔레콤은 중소 협력사가 구매하기 어려운 최신 스마트폰 단말기 200여대 및 20여종의 계측기 등도 예약을 통해 무상으로 사용할 수 있도록 제공한다.
온라인 상으로는 SK텔레콤의 전문 R&D인력과 아이디어를 직접 교류할 수 있는 기회를 마련하였다.

‘T 오픈랩’ 이용을 위해서는 홈페이지(topenlab.sktelecom.com) 가입이 필요하며, 홈페이지 내 예약 시스템을 통해 내부 시설 및 장비를 예약/사용할 수 있다. 웹사이트 가입 후에는 특별한 방문 예약 절차 없이 ‘T 오픈랩’의 출입이 가능하며 예약한 장비 및 공간에 대해서는 비용 부담 없이 자유롭게 사용할 수 있다.
