경기창조경제혁신센터(이하 ‘경기혁신센터’)와 ㈜벤처스퀘어는 17일 공공 기술사업화를 목표로 한 67.4억 원 규모의 모태펀드 브이에스 경기혁신투자조합 2호 펀드를 결성했다고 밝혔다.
이번 펀드는 모태펀드, 대학, 지방자치단체, 선배 벤처기업 등 다양한 출자자가 참여한 가운데 결성되었으며, 주로 인공지능, 시스템반도체, 에너지 등 성장 가능성이 큰 딥테크 스타트업에 대한 신규 및 초기 투자를 목표로 한다. 양사는 이번 펀드를 통해 TIPS 추천, 대·중견기업 연계 오픈이노베이션, 글로벌 프로그램 등을 통해 Value-up을 추진할 계획이다.
또한, 산·학·연 최고 전문가들과 협력하여 공공기술이 실질적인 가치를 창출할 수 있도록 유망 기업을 발굴하고, 창업 전 주기 프로그램과 맞춤형 액셀러레이팅 프로그램을 제공할 예정이다.
경기혁신센터는 중소벤처기업부 글로벌 전략 허브로서 축적된 해외 투자자 네트워크를 활용, 초기 단계 글로벌 향 스타트업 공동 투자 및 해외 진출 스타트업의 후속 해외 투자 유치를 지원할 예정이다. 또한, ‘글로벌 클럽딜(Global Club Deal)’ 프로그램을 통해 경기센터와 해외 VC가 공동 투자한 스타트업에 대해 국내 사업화와 글로벌 진출을 지원하고 있다.
출자자로 참여한 선배 벤처기업 담당자는 “이번 펀드는 공공기술의 실질적 사업화와 초기 기업 지원에 큰 도움이 될 것”이라며, “미래 창업가와 기술기업에 중요한 기회가 될 것”이라고 말했다.
경기혁신센터는 KT와의 콜라보레이션을 포함한 다양한 대·중견기업과의 오픈이노베이션 프로그램을 운영하며, 스타트업의 기술력 및 제품·서비스의 실증화 지원과 SI 투자 연계 등을 진행하고 있다. 또한, 경기 반도체 혁신 네트워크 및 딥테크 창업발굴단 등을 통해 우수 기업 유입 및 협업에 강점을 갖추고 있다.
벤처스퀘어는 스타트업 전문 미디어이자 액셀러레이터로, 인공지능, 소재, 부품, 장비, 콘텐츠 등 다양한 분야에 투자하며, 시드부터 프리A 단계까지 지원하고 있다. 주요 투자 기업으로는 피처링, 삼쩜삼 등이 있다.
이번 펀드는 공공기술을 활용한 창업 및 기술사업화를 목표로 하며, 향후 혁신적인 투자 전략과 협력을 통해 지속적으로 성과를 창출할 것으로 기대된다.

Gyeonggi Innovation Center X Venture Square, VS Gyeonggi Innovation Investment Association 2nd Fund Formation
The Gyeonggi Center for Creative Economy and Innovation (hereinafter referred to as the “Gyeonggi Innovation Center”) and Venture Square Co., Ltd. announced on the 17th that they have formed the 2nd VS Gyeonggi Innovation Investment Association Fund, a mother fund worth 6.74 billion won aimed at commercializing public technology.
This fund was formed with the participation of various investors such as mother funds, universities, local governments, and senior venture companies, and mainly targets new and early investments in deep-tech startups with high growth potential such as artificial intelligence, system semiconductors, and energy. As a global strategic hub of the Ministry of SMEs and Startups, the Gyeonggi Innovation Center will utilize its accumulated overseas investor network to support joint investment in early-stage global startups and follow-up overseas investment for startups that have advanced overseas. In addition, through the ‘Global Club Deal’ program, the Gyeonggi Innovation Center and overseas VCs are supporting domestic commercialization and global expansion for startups in which the center and overseas VCs have jointly invested.
A senior venture company official who participated as an investor said, “This fund will be of great help in commercializing public technology and supporting early-stage companies,” and “It will be an important opportunity for future entrepreneurs and technology companies.”
The Gyeonggi Innovation Center operates open innovation programs with various large and medium-sized companies, including collaborations with KT, and supports the verification of startups’ technological capabilities and products/services, and connects them with SI investments. In addition, it has strengths in attracting and collaborating with excellent companies through the Gyeonggi Semiconductor Innovation Network and the Deep Tech Startup Discovery Team.
Venture Square is a startup media and accelerator that invests in various fields such as artificial intelligence, materials, parts, equipment, and content, and provides support from seed to pre-A stages. Major investment companies include Featuring and Samjwimsam.
This fund aims to create startups and commercialize technologies using public technology, and is expected to continuously produce results through innovative investment strategies and cooperation in the future.
