AI MEDTECH 전문기업 웨이센이 신용보증기금의 Pre-ICON(이하 프리아이콘) 기업으로 선정됐다고 28일 밝혔다.
이번 선정으로 웨이센은 향후 3년간 70억원의 자금과 수출 정보, 판로개척, 홍보 등 다양한 금융·비금융 서비스도 함께 지원받게 된다.
‘프리아이콘’은 신용보증기금의 최상위 지원 프로그램인 ‘혁신아이콘’의 전 단계로, 창업 2년에서 10년 이내의 도약 단계에 있는 고성장 혁신 스타트업을 대상으로 한 스케일업 지원 사업이다. 특히 성장 가능성, 기술력, 혁신성을 고루 갖춘 기업을 선별해 지원한다. 웨이센은 신용보증기금 스케일업센터의 추천을 통해 선정됐으며, 올해 총 8개 기업만이 선정될 예정인 가운데, 그 중 첫 번째로 이름을 올렸다.
2019년 설립된 웨이센은 인공지능(AI) 기술을 내시경 분야에 접목해, 국내외 의료기관에 AI 내시경 ‘웨이메드 엔도(WAIMED ENDO)’를 공급하고 있다. ‘웨이메드 엔도’는 소화기 내시경 검사장비와 연동해 사용하는 인공지능 기반 소프트웨어 의료기기로, 실시간으로 이상 병변을 감지해 내시경 전문의에게 즉시 알림을 제공하는 것이 특징이다. 최근에는 건강검진 전문 의료기관인 KMI한국의학연구센터와 공급 계약을 체결하며 상용화에 속도를 내고 있다.
웨이센은 이번 ‘프리아이콘’ 선정에 힘입어 인공지능 내시경 솔루션 ‘웨이메드 엔도’의 성능 고도화를 위한 연구개발에 집중 투자할 계획이다. 특히 국내외 협력 의료기관과의 공동연구를 더욱 확대하고, 제품 품질 향상을 통해 의료 현장에서의 실효성과 신뢰도를 한층 강화할 방침이다. 아울러 글로벌 시장 진출을 위한 마케팅 및 영업 활동에도 박차를 가할 예정이며, 국내를 넘어 해외 시장 확대를 위한 도입 병원 발굴에도 적극 나설 계획이다.

Weissen, Shinbo 'Free Icon' selected
AI MEDTECH specialized company Weisen announced on the 28th that it was selected as a Pre-ICON company by the Korea Credit Guarantee Fund.
With this selection, Weixian will receive 7 billion won in funding over the next three years, as well as various financial and non-financial services such as export information, market development, and public relations.
'Free Icon' is the previous stage of 'Innovation Icon', the highest support program of the Korea Credit Guarantee Fund, and is a scale-up support project targeting high-growth innovative startups that are in the leap stage within 2 to 10 years of establishment. In particular, it selects and supports companies that have growth potential, technology, and innovation. Weysen was selected through the recommendation of the Korea Credit Guarantee Fund Scale-up Center, and was the first among only 8 companies scheduled to be selected this year.
Founded in 2019, Waysen has been supplying its AI endoscope, 'Waymed Endo', to medical institutions at home and abroad by applying artificial intelligence (AI) technology to the endoscopy field. 'Waymed Endo' is an AI-based software medical device that is used in conjunction with a digestive endoscopic examination equipment. Its special feature is that it detects abnormal lesions in real time and immediately notifies endoscopists. Recently, it has been speeding up commercialization by signing a supply contract with KMI Korea Medical Research Center, a medical institution specializing in health checkups.
With this selection as a 'Free Icon', Weysen plans to focus on investing in research and development to enhance the performance of its AI endoscopy solution, 'Waymed Endo'. In particular, it plans to further expand joint research with domestic and international medical institutions and further enhance effectiveness and reliability in the medical field by improving product quality. In addition, it plans to accelerate marketing and sales activities for entry into the global market and actively seek out hospitals to introduce it to expand overseas markets beyond the domestic market.

La société spécialisée en AI MEDTECH Weisen a annoncé le 28 qu'elle avait été sélectionnée comme société pré-ICON par le Fonds coréen de garantie de crédit.
Avec cette sélection, Weixian recevra 7 milliards de wons de financement au cours des trois prochaines années, ainsi que divers services financiers et non financiers tels que des informations sur les exportations, le développement du marché et les relations publiques.
« Pre-Icon » est un projet de soutien à l'expansion ciblant les startups innovantes à forte croissance dans la phase de bond en avant, qui est l'étape précédente de « Innovation Icon », le programme de soutien le plus élevé du Fonds de garantie de crédit coréen. Nous sélectionnons et accompagnons notamment des entreprises qui ont un potentiel de croissance, des prouesses technologiques et de l’innovation. Weixen a été sélectionnée grâce à une recommandation du Korea Credit Guarantee Fund Scale-up Center et a été la première des huit entreprises à être sélectionnées cette année.
Fondée en 2019, Weisen applique la technologie de l'intelligence artificielle (IA) au domaine de l'endoscopie et fournit l'endoscope IA « WAIMED ENDO » aux institutions médicales nationales et étrangères. « Waymed Endo » est un dispositif médical logiciel basé sur l'intelligence artificielle qui est utilisé en conjonction avec un équipement d'examen d'endoscopie gastro-intestinale. Sa particularité est qu'il détecte les lésions anormales en temps réel et avertit immédiatement l'endoscopiste. Récemment, nous avons accéléré la commercialisation en signant un contrat d’approvisionnement avec KMI Korea Medical Research Center, une institution médicale spécialisée dans les bilans de santé.
Avec cette sélection en tant qu'« Icône gratuite », Waysen prévoit de concentrer ses investissements dans la recherche et le développement pour améliorer les performances de sa solution d'endoscopie à intelligence artificielle, « Waymed Endo ». En particulier, nous prévoyons d'étendre davantage la recherche conjointe avec des institutions médicales nationales et internationales et d'améliorer l'efficacité et la fiabilité dans le domaine médical en améliorant la qualité des produits. En outre, nous prévoyons d’accélérer nos activités de marketing et de vente pour entrer sur le marché mondial et de rechercher activement des hôpitaux pour introduire le produit afin de nous développer sur les marchés étrangers au-delà du marché intérieur.
Le PDG de Waysun, Kim Kyung-nam, a déclaré : « Le fait que Waymed Endo soit un produit qui apporte une aide significative sur les sites d'examen endoscopique réels semble avoir joué un rôle important dans sa sélection comme « Icône gratuite » », et a exprimé ses aspirations en déclarant : « Avec cette sélection comme opportunité, nous allons consolider davantage notre position en tant qu'entreprise leader sur le marché mondial de l'examen endoscopique. »
