외화 결제 핀테크 기업 트래블월렛이 일본, 대만, 유라시아 등 해외 시장에서 ‘더치페이 관련 분할 결제’ 기술 특허를 취득했다고 2일 밝혔다. 이번 특허 취득은 트래블월렛이 글로벌 시장으로의 확장을 가속화하는 중요한 전환점을 의미한다.
트래블월렛의 분할 결제 특허 기술은 자사의 ‘N빵 결제’ 기능에 적용된다. 이 기술은 결제 승인과 동시에 자동으로 결제 금액을 분할해 각 사용자가 개별적으로 부담하도록 처리하는 시스템으로, 여행 및 모임에서 발생하는 복잡한 결제 과정을 간소화하고 실시간으로 정산을 돕는다. 기존에는 한 사람이 선결제를 한 후 나머지 인원이 이를 정산하는 방식이었지만, 트래블월렛의 기술은 이를 자동화하여 결제 편의성과 금융 신뢰성을 크게 향상시켰다.
트래블월렛은 현재 한국, 일본, 대만, 유라시아에 이어 미국, 멕시코 등 20개 이상의 국가에서 추가 특허 출원을 진행 중이며, 지속적으로 글로벌 시장에서 결제 기술에 대한 리더십을 확립해 나갈 계획이다. 다양한 국가의 금융 환경에 맞춘 맞춤형 금융 서비스를 제공할 수 있는 역량을 갖추게 되어, 전 세계적으로 더욱 넓은 시장을 대상으로 서비스를 제공할 수 있을 것으로 보인다.
