㈜원강(대표 강태영)은 한국터널지하공간학회(KTA)가 주최한 2025 KTA Tunnelling Awards에서 ‘획기적인 제품·장비’ 부문을 수상했다.
수상한 기술은 ‘플라즈마 보강을 이용한 암반굴착 픽커터 성능향상 기술’로, ㈜원강이 한국건설기술연구원(대표 박선규)과 수요&패밀리 기업으로 함께 공동 연구개발을 수행한 결과물이자, 양 기관이 이번 어워드에서 공동으로 수상한 기술이다.
해당 기술은 암반굴착 로드헤더 장비의 핵심 부품인 픽커터에 플라즈마 보강 기술을 적용하여 내마모성과 작업 효율을 획기적으로 향상시켰으며, 터널 및 지하공간 시공 현장에서 실질적인 성능 개선과 생산성 향상에 큰 기여를 하고 있다.
이번 수상은 ㈜원강이 터널링 산업 발전에 기여한 혁신적인 기술력과 그 기술이 현장에 실제 적용되어 변화를 이끌어낸 성과를 공식적으로 인정받은 사례로 평가된다.

Wonkang wins groundbreaking product/equipment category at '2025 KTA Tunneling Awards'
Wonkang Co., Ltd. (CEO Kang Tae-young) won the ‘Breakthrough Product/Equipment’ category at the 2025 KTA Tunnelling Awards hosted by the Korea Tunnelling and Underground Space Association (KTA).
The award-winning technology is ‘technology to improve the performance of rock excavation picker using plasma reinforcement’, and it is the result of joint research and development conducted by Wonkang Co., Ltd. and the Korea Institute of Construction Technology (CEO Park Seon-gyu) as a demand & family company, and it is a technology that both organizations jointly won at this award.
The technology has dramatically improved wear resistance and work efficiency by applying plasma reinforcement technology to the pick cutter, a key component of rock excavation roadheader equipment, and is making a significant contribution to improving actual performance and productivity at tunnel and underground construction sites.
