비욘드메디슨(대표 김대현)은 자사가 개발한 디지털 치료기기 ‘클릭리스 DTx’가 식품의약품안전처로부터 국내 치과 분야 최초의 혁신의료기기(제82호)로 지정되었다고 28일 밝혔다.
디지털 헬스케어 스타트업 비욘드메디슨은 AI 기반 디지털 치료기술을 바탕으로, 턱관절 장애(Temporomandibular Disorder, 이하 TMD) 환자들이 병원 방문 후 처방 받은 솔루션으로 자가 관리를 바탕으로 증상을 개선할 수 있도록 돕는다.
특히 기존의 약물·장치 중심 치료가 아닌, 행동 조절 및 습관 개선 중심의 비침습적 치료 방식을 앱 기반으로 구현해냈다는 점에서 기술적·시장적 차별성이 돋보인다.
국내 TMD 환자는 연간 200만 명 이상으로 추정되며, 전 세계적으로 약 2억 명 이상이 해당 증상을 겪는 것으로 알려져 있다. 그럼에도 기존 치료법은 재발률이 50% 이상에 달하고, 핵심 치료 원칙인 행동 조절과 자가관리 치료는 환자 교육과 실천의 어려움으로 인해 임상에서 실효성을 확보하지 못했다.
비욘드메디슨은 이러한 한계를 극복하고자 서울대 치과대학병원, 한림대 성심병원 등과 함께 탐색 및 확증 임상 연구를 진행했다. 2022년에는 탐색 임상 연구 결과를 세계적 권위의 Journal of Dentistry에 발표했고, 식약처 의료기기 최종 허가를 위한 확증 임상을 종료하였으며, 2025년 하반기 인허가 및 실제 임상 처방을 목표로 한다.
또 이미 국내 1,000개 이상의 치과 병의원과 협업해 실제 처방 기반의 환경을 구축했으며, SIDEX, GAMEX 등 주요 치과 기자재 전시회에 참가하여 치과 업계와의 접점을 넓히고 있다.
따라서 디지털 치료제 분야가 여전히 대학병원 중심의 급여체계에 갇혀 있는 반면, 클릭리스 DTx는 비급여 기반의 개인 치과 병의원 유통이 가능해 빠른 시장 확산이 가능하다는 분석이 나오고 있다.
해외 진출도 본격화되고 있다. 비욘드메디슨은 미국 FDA Pre-submission을 완료, 디지털 치료제로서의 혁신성을 입증했으며, 치과 전문 유통사인 Glidewell, Carequest와의 기술 검증을 완료했다. 현재는 시카고 일리노이 주립대학교 및 케이스 웨스턴 대학교와 함께 미국 내 현지화 프로젝트를 진행 중이며, 일본, 싱가포르 등 아시아 주요국 진출도 준비하고 있다.

Beyond Medicine's 'Clickless DTx' Designated as an Innovative Medical Device
Beyond Medicine (CEO Daehyun Kim) announced on the 28th that its digital therapeutic device, 'Clickless DTx', was designated as the first innovative medical device (No. 82) in the dental field by the Ministry of Food and Drug Safety.
Beyond Medicine, a digital healthcare startup, uses AI-based digital therapeutic technology to help patients with temporomandibular disorder (TMD) improve their symptoms through self-management with solutions prescribed after visiting a hospital.
In particular, it stands out for its technological and market differentiation in that it has implemented an app-based, non-invasive treatment method that focuses on behavior control and habit improvement, rather than the existing drug/device-centered treatment.
The number of TMD patients in Korea is estimated to be over 2 million per year, and it is known that over 200 million people worldwide suffer from this symptom. However, existing treatments have a recurrence rate of over 50%, and the core treatment principles of behavioral control and self-management treatment have not been clinically effective due to difficulties in patient education and practice.
To overcome these limitations, Beyond Medicine conducted exploratory and confirmatory clinical studies with Seoul National University Dental Hospital, Hallym University Sacred Heart Hospital, etc. In 2022, the results of the exploratory clinical study were published in the Journal of Dentistry, a world-renowned journal, and the confirmatory clinical study for final approval of the medical device by the Ministry of Food and Drug Safety was completed, and the goal is to obtain approval and actual clinical prescriptions in the second half of 2025.
In addition, we have already established an environment based on actual prescriptions by collaborating with over 1,000 dental clinics in Korea, and are expanding our contact points with the dental industry by participating in major dental equipment exhibitions such as SIDEX and GAMEX.
Accordingly, while the digital therapeutics field is still confined to a reimbursement system centered on university hospitals, there is analysis that clickless DTx can be distributed to private dental clinics on a non-reimbursement basis, allowing for rapid market expansion.
Overseas expansion is also in full swing. Beyond Medicine has completed the US FDA Pre-submission, proving its innovativeness as a digital therapeutic, and has completed technology verification with dental specialty distributors Glidewell and Carequest. It is currently conducting a localization project in the US with the University of Illinois at Chicago and Case Western University, and is also preparing to enter major Asian countries such as Japan and Singapore.

ビヨンド・メディソンはこのような限界を克服しようとソウル大学歯科大学病院、ハンリム大学聖心病院などとともに探索及び確証臨床研究を進行した。 2022年には探索臨床研究の結果を世界的権威のJournal of Dentistryに発表し、食薬処医療機器最終許可のための確証臨床を終了し、2025年下半期の認可及び実際の臨床処方を目指す。
また、すでに国内1,000社以上の歯科病院と協業し、実際の処方基盤の環境を構築しており、SIDEX、GAMEXなど主要歯科記者財展に参加して歯科業界との接点を広げている。
したがって、デジタル治療薬分野が依然として大学病院中心の給与体系に閉じ込められているのに対し、クリックレスDTxは非給与ベースの個人歯科病院の流通が可能で、急速な市場拡散が可能であるという分析が出ている。

Beyond Medicine（代表金大铉） 28日表示，其数字治疗设备“Clickless DTx”被韩国食品药品安全部指定为牙科领域首个创新医疗器械（第82号）。
数字医疗初创公司 Beyond Medicine 使用基于人工智能的数字治疗技术，帮助颞下颌关节紊乱症 (TMD) 患者通过医院就诊后开具的解决方案进行自我管理，从而改善症状。
尤其是其打破了现有的以药物/设备为中心的治疗模式，实现了以行为控制和习惯改善为重点的、基于应用程序的非侵入性治疗方法，在技术和市场差异化方面表现出色。
据估计，韩国每年有超过200万TMD患者，而全球有超过2亿人患有此症状。但现有治疗方法的复发率高达50%以上，且行为控制和自我管理治疗等核心治疗原则由于患者教育和实践困难，在临床上并未取得效果。
为了克服这些局限性，Beyond Medicine 与首尔国立大学牙科医院和翰林大学圣心医院合作开展了探索性和确认性临床研究。 2022年，探索性临床试验的结果发表在世界知名的《牙科杂志》上，并完成了食品药品安全部最终批准该医疗器械的确认性临床试验，目标是在2025年下半年获得批准并投入实际临床处方。
此外，我们已经与韩国1000多家牙科诊所合作，建立了基于实际处方的环境，并通过参加SIDEX和GAMEX等主要牙科设备展览会来扩大与牙科行业的接触点。
因此，尽管数字治疗领域仍然陷入以大学医院为中心的报销体系，但有分析认为，无点击 DTx 可以以非报销方式分发给私人牙科诊所，从而实现快速市场扩张。

Beyond Medicine (PDG Daehyun Kim) a annoncé le 28 que son dispositif thérapeutique numérique, « Clickless DTx », a été désigné comme le premier dispositif médical innovant (n° 82) dans le domaine dentaire par le ministère de la Sécurité alimentaire et pharmaceutique.
Beyond Medicine, une startup de soins de santé numériques, utilise une technologie thérapeutique numérique basée sur l'IA pour aider les patients atteints de troubles temporo-mandibulaires (TMD) à améliorer leurs symptômes grâce à l'autogestion avec des solutions prescrites après une visite à l'hôpital.
Elle se distingue notamment par sa différenciation technologique et commerciale dans la mesure où elle a mis en œuvre une méthode de traitement non invasive basée sur une application qui se concentre sur le contrôle du comportement et l'amélioration des habitudes, plutôt que sur le traitement existant centré sur les médicaments/dispositifs.
On estime qu'il y a plus de 2 millions de patients atteints de TMD en Corée chaque année, et on sait que plus de 200 millions de personnes dans le monde souffrent de ce symptôme. Cependant, les traitements existants ont un taux de rechute de plus de 50 %, et les principes fondamentaux du traitement, à savoir le contrôle comportemental et l’autogestion, ne se sont pas révélés cliniquement efficaces en raison des difficultés rencontrées dans l’éducation et la pratique des patients.
Pour surmonter ces limitations, Beyond Medicine a mené des études cliniques exploratoires et confirmatoires en collaboration avec l’hôpital dentaire de l’université nationale de Séoul et l’hôpital du Sacré-Cœur de l’université Hallym. En 2022, les résultats de l'essai clinique exploratoire ont été publiés dans le Journal of Dentistry de renommée mondiale, et l'essai clinique de confirmation pour l'approbation finale du dispositif médical par le ministère de la Sécurité alimentaire et pharmaceutique a été achevé, avec pour objectif l'approbation et la prescription clinique réelle au cours du second semestre 2025.
De plus, nous avons déjà établi un environnement basé sur des prescriptions réelles en collaborant avec plus de 1 000 cliniques dentaires en Corée et élargissons nos points de contact avec l'industrie dentaire en participant à de grandes expositions d'équipements dentaires telles que SIDEX et GAMEX.
En conséquence, alors que le domaine de la thérapeutique numérique est encore prisonnier d'un système de remboursement centré sur les hôpitaux universitaires, des analyses montrent que les DTx sans clic peuvent être distribués aux cliniques dentaires privées sur une base de non-remboursement, permettant une expansion rapide du marché.
L’expansion à l’étranger bat également son plein. Beyond Medicine a terminé la pré-soumission auprès de la FDA américaine, démontrant son caractère innovant en tant que thérapie numérique, et a terminé la vérification technologique avec les distributeurs de spécialités dentaires Glidewell et Carequest. Nous travaillons actuellement sur un projet de localisation aux États-Unis avec l’Université de l’Illinois à Chicago et l’Université Case Western, et nous nous préparons également à entrer dans les principaux pays asiatiques tels que le Japon et Singapour.
