인공지능(AI) 데이터 전문 기업 비큐AI는 ‘JW-코난 AI 넥스트리더 펀드’에 주요 출자자로 참여했다고 28일 밝혔다.
이번 펀드는 제이더블유자산운용과 코난인베스트먼트가 공동 운용하며, 투자 대상은 차세대 AI 반도체 기술로 주목받고 있는 퓨리오사AI다. 비큐AI의 출자는 국내 AI 반도체 산업의 성장 가능성에 주목한 전략적 결정으로, 퓨리오사AI의 기술 경쟁력과 글로벌 시장에서의 확장성을 높이 평가한 결과로 해석된다.
퓨리오사AI는 자체 개발한 고성능 추론 연산용 AI 반도체 ‘레니게이드(Renegade)’를 중심으로 기술 고도화와 상용화 준비를 진행 중이다. 최근에는 글로벌 빅테크 기업 메타(Meta)로부터 약 1조 200억 원 규모의 인수 제안을 받은 바 있으나, 독립적인 성장 전략을 선택하며 시장 내 기술 리더십 강화를 지속하고 있다. 이번 투자를 계기로 제품 양산 및 시장 점유율 확대에 한층 속도를 낼 것으로 전망된다.
