무인이동체 솔루션 기업 위플로의 김의정 대표가 대한민국 무인이동체 산업 발전에 기여한 공로를 인정받아 산업통상자원부 장관 표창을 수상했다.
김 대표는 위플로 설립 이후 인공지능(AI) 기반의 드론 자동 점검 솔루션을 개발하며 드론 생산 및 운용 과정의 품질 관리 문제 해결에 기여해왔다. 핵심 기술인 ‘verti-Pit(버티핏)’은 기존의 수동 검사 방식의 한계를 극복한 자동화 검사 솔루션으로, 드론 산업에서의 품질 표준 정립에 기여하고 있다.
특히, 드론 생산 공정의 최종 검사 단계에서 활용되는 ‘verti-Pit QC’는 멀티모달 센서와 버티컬 AI 기술을 활용해 드론의 외관, 구동부, 안전성 등 15개 이상의 항목을 1분 내에 자동으로 점검할 수 있으며, 검사 정확도는 99.8%에 달한다. 위플로는 해당 기술에 대해 국내외 26건의 특허를 보유하고 있다.
김 대표는 기술 개발 외에도 산업 생태계 조성에 적극 나서고 있다. 위플로는 국토교통부의 ‘드론 실증도시 구축 사업’에 참여해 13개 지자체에 드론 배송 인프라를 구축했으며, 안전 점검 기능이 포함된 인프라 설치를 통해 국가 표준화에도 기여했다.
또한 2024년에는 산업통상자원부의 ‘방산혁신 100 기업’에 선정됐으며, 국방용 드론 점검·정비 체계 구축을 포함한 다양한 실전 운용 과제도 수행 중이다.
위플로 측은 이번 수상과 관련해 “기업의 기술력과 산업 기여도가 객관적으로 인정받은 결과”라고 평가하며, 앞으로도 무인이동체 산업의 지속적인 발전을 위해 역량을 집중하겠다고 밝혔다.

Kim Ui-jeong, CEO of unmanned vehicle solution company Wiplo, received a commendation from the Minister of Trade, Industry and Energy in recognition of his contributions to the development of the unmanned vehicle industry in South Korea.
Since the establishment of Weplo, CEO Kim has contributed to solving quality management issues in the drone production and operation process by developing an AI-based drone automatic inspection solution. The core technology, ‘verti-Pit’, is an automated inspection solution that overcomes the limitations of existing manual inspection methods, and is contributing to establishing quality standards in the drone industry.
In particular, 'verti-Pit QC', which is utilized in the final inspection stage of the drone production process, can automatically inspect more than 15 items, including the appearance, drivetrain, and safety of the drone, within 1 minute by utilizing multimodal sensors and vertical AI technology, and the inspection accuracy reaches 99.8%. Weflow holds 26 domestic and international patents for the technology.
In addition to technology development, CEO Kim is actively involved in creating an industrial ecosystem. Wiplo participated in the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport’s ‘Drone Test City Construction Project’ and built drone delivery infrastructure in 13 local governments, and also contributed to national standardization by installing infrastructure that includes safety inspection functions.
In addition, in 2024, it was selected as one of the '100 Defense Industry Innovation Companies' by the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy, and is also carrying out various practical operational tasks, including establishing an inspection and maintenance system for defense drones.
Regarding this award, Whiplo said, “This is a result of objective recognition of the company’s technological prowess and contribution to the industry,” and added that they will continue to focus their capabilities on the continued development of the unmanned vehicle industry.

Kim Ui-jeong, PDG de la société de solutions de véhicules sans pilote Wiplo, a reçu une distinction du ministre du Commerce, de l'Industrie et de l'Énergie en reconnaissance de sa contribution au développement de l'industrie des véhicules sans pilote en Corée du Sud.
Depuis la création de Weplo, le PDG Kim a contribué à résoudre les problèmes de gestion de la qualité dans les processus de production et d'exploitation des drones en développant une solution d'inspection automatique basée sur l'IA. La technologie de base, « verti-Pit », est une solution d'inspection automatisée qui surmonte les limites des méthodes d'inspection manuelle existantes et contribue à établir des normes de qualité dans l'industrie des drones.
