리걸AI 전문 기업 BHSN(대표 임정근)은 삼성생명과의 협업을 위해 삼성벤처투자로부터 전략적 투자를 유치했다고 17일 밝혔다. 삼성벤처투자는 삼성생명이 출자한 신기술사업투자조합을 통해 이번 투자를 진행했다.
이번 투자는 BHSN의 법률 특화 데이터 처리 역량과 AI 기술(대규모 언어 모델(LLM)인 앨리비 아스트로, AI 검색엔진, OCR 등)을 기반으로 삼성생명을 포함한 금융 계열사의 리스크 관리 체계 강화와 자생적 컴플라이언스 시스템 구축을 목적으로 진행됐다.
BHSN과 삼성생명은 지난 5월 8일 업무협약(MOU)을 체결했으며, ▲법률 데이터 기반 금융 특화 AI 공동 개발 ▲내부 통제 서비스 구현 ▲기술·서비스·영업 전반을 아우르는 중장기 파트너십 확대 등 3단계 협업 로드맵을 순차적으로 추진할 계획이다.
특히 두 기관은 내부 시스템과 연동 가능한 AI 환경 구축에 중점을 두고 있으며, 이를 통해 법률 해석과 컴플라이언스 판단이 필요한 주요 업무에 AI 활용 체계를 마련한다. 금융 현장에서 발생하는 사규 위반, 보고 누락, 규제 해석 오류 등 휴먼 에러를 사전 탐지·차단해 컴플라이언스 담당자의 업무 효율성 제고와 내부 통제의 일관성 및 신속성을 확보할 방침이다.
BHSN은 이번 협업을 기반으로 금융 산업 내 리걸AI의 실질적 필요성과 효과를 입증하고, 향후 금융권 전반과 다양한 산업 분야로 리걸AI 도입을 확대할 계획이다.
삼성생명 관계자는 “BHSN은 금융 규제 및 내부 규정처럼 범용 AI로는 대응하기 어려운 복잡한 문제를 정밀하고 정확하게 해결할 수 있는 기술력을 보유한 기업”이라며 “금융권 전반의 리스크 통제 시스템 혁신을 위해 장기적 관점에서 투자와 협업을 결정했다”고 말했다.

BHSN (CEO Lim Jeong-geun), a legal AI specialized company, announced on the 17th that it has attracted strategic investment from Samsung Venture Investment for collaboration with Samsung Life Insurance. Samsung Venture Investment conducted this investment through the New Technology Business Investment Association in which Samsung Life Insurance invested.
This investment was made with the aim of strengthening the risk management system of financial affiliates including Samsung Life Insurance and establishing an autonomous compliance system based on BHSN’s legal specialized data processing capabilities and AI technology (such as Allybee Astro, a large-scale language model (LLM), AI search engine, and OCR).
BHSN and Samsung Life Insurance signed a business agreement (MOU) on May 8, and plan to sequentially pursue a three-stage collaboration roadmap, including ▲joint development of financial AI based on legal data, ▲implementation of internal control services, and ▲expanding mid- to long-term partnership covering technology, services, and sales.
In particular, the two organizations are focusing on building an AI environment that can be linked with internal systems, thereby establishing an AI utilization system for major tasks that require legal interpretation and compliance judgment. They plan to detect and block human errors such as violations of company regulations, omissions in reporting, and regulatory interpretation errors occurring in the financial field in advance, thereby improving the work efficiency of compliance officers and ensuring consistency and speed in internal control.
Based on this collaboration, BHSN plans to demonstrate the practical necessity and effectiveness of legal AI in the financial industry and expand the introduction of legal AI to the entire financial sector and various industries in the future.
A Samsung Life Insurance official said, “BHSN is a company that possesses the technology to precisely and accurately resolve complex issues that are difficult to address with general-purpose AI, such as financial regulations and internal rules,” adding, “We decided to invest and collaborate with a long-term perspective to innovate the risk control system across the financial sector.”
BHSN CEO Lim Jeong-geun said, “I think it is meaningful that our technology and business viability have been recognized by the top financial institution in Korea, which has led to investment and collaboration,” and added, “We will focus on advancing Legal AI so that our technology can be utilized across various B2B industries beyond the financial sector.”
