인공지능(AI) 언어 데이터 및 솔루션 기업 플리토는 과학기술정보통신부가 추진하는 ‘독자 AI 파운데이션 모델 개발사업’에서 데이터 제공 파트너이자 민간 컨소시엄 참여 기업으로 최종 선정됐다고 5일 밝혔다.
해당 사업은 향후 5년간 약 100조 원 규모로 추진되는 국가 인공지능 전략 프로젝트로, 한국형 초거대언어모델(LLM)의 독자 기술 개발을 통해 글로벌 경쟁력을 확보하고 기술 자립 기반의 AI 주권 실현을 목표로 하고 있다.
플리토는 본 사업에서 학습용 및 평가용 데이터 구축을 전담하며, 한국형 LLM 개발을 위한 핵심 기반을 제공하게 된다. 회사는 AI 언어 데이터 처리 기술을 기반으로 다양한 글로벌 IT 행사에 AI 동시통역 솔루션을 제공한 경험을 보유하고 있다.
이번 프로젝트에는 업스테이지를 주관사로, 플리토 외에도 노타 AI, 래블업, 카이스트, 서강대학교 등 AI 관련 전문 기술과 연구 역량을 갖춘 민간 및 학계 기관들이 참여하고 있다. 해당 컨소시엄은 자체 개발 중인 LLM ‘솔라(SOLAR)’ 시리즈를 통해 기술력을 검증받았으며, 온디바이스 AI, 모델 경량화, 시스템 설계, 인재 양성 등 각 분야에서 협력할 예정이다.
플리토는 이번 사업 참여를 계기로 다국어 AI 솔루션, 산업 특화형 언어 모델, NPU 기반 통번역 기술 등 차세대 사업 영역 확장을 본격 추진할 계획이다. 특히 최근 DQ 인증을 획득한 CoT(Chain of Thought) 데이터 개발 및 RLHF 기반 학습 데이터 구축 경험을 바탕으로 다양한 언어 도메인에 특화된 모델 설계에 주력할 방침이다.
플리토 측은 “데이터 구축 분야의 핵심 파트너로 참여하게 된 것은 기술 역량에 대한 공식적인 평가로 볼 수 있다”며 “국내 AI 기술 자립에 기여하고 글로벌 시장 진출 기반을 마련할 수 있도록 사업 수행에 집중하겠다”고 밝혔다.

Pluto , an artificial intelligence (AI) language data and solutions company, announced on the 5th that it was finally selected as a data provider and private consortium participant in the 'Independent AI Foundation Model Development Project' promoted by the Ministry of Science and ICT.
This project is a national artificial intelligence strategy project that will be promoted at a scale of approximately 100 trillion won over the next five years. It aims to secure global competitiveness through the independent development of a Korean-style Large Language Model (LLM) technology and realize AI sovereignty based on technological independence.
Pluto will be responsible for building learning and assessment data for this project, providing a core foundation for the development of a Korean-style LLM. The company has experience providing AI simultaneous interpretation solutions for various global IT events, leveraging its AI language data processing technology.
This project is led by Upstage, and includes private and academic institutions with AI-related expertise and research capabilities, including Pluto, Nota AI, Lablup, KAIST, and Sogang University. The consortium has proven its technological prowess through its in-house LLM series, "SOLAR," and plans to collaborate in various areas, including on-device AI, model lightweighting, system design, and talent development.
With this participation, Pluto plans to actively expand its next-generation business areas, including multilingual AI solutions, industry-specific language models, and NPU-based translation and interpretation technology. In particular, leveraging its experience in developing Chain of Thought (CoT) data, which recently received DQ certification, and building RLHF-based learning data, Pluto plans to focus on designing models specialized for various language domains.
Pluto stated, “Being selected as a key partner in the data construction field can be seen as an official evaluation of our technological capabilities,” and added, “We will focus on carrying out our business so that we can contribute to the independence of domestic AI technology and lay the foundation for entering the global market.”

人工知能（AI）の言語データおよびソリューション企業プリトは、科学技術情報通信部が推進する「独自のAIファンデーションモデル開発事業」でデータ提供パートナーであり、民間コンソーシアム参加企業に最終選定されたと5日明らかにした。
同事業は今後5年間で約100兆ウォン規模で推進される国家人工知能戦略プロジェクトで、韓国型超巨大言語モデル(LLM)の独自技術開発を通じてグローバル競争力を確保し、技術自立基盤のAI主権実現を目指している。
プリトは本事業で学習用および評価用のデータ構築を専担し、韓国型LLM開発のための核心基盤を提供することになる。
今回のプロジェクトにはアップステージを主管社として、プリトの他にもノータAI、ラブルアップ、カイスト、西江大学などAI関連専門技術と研究力量を備えた民間および学界機関が参加している。など各分野で協力する予定だ。
プリトは今回の事業参加を契機に、多言語AIソリューション、産業特化型言語モデル、NPUベースの通訳技術など、次世代事業領域の拡張を本格推進する計画だ。
プリト側は「データ構築分野の核心パートナーとして参加することになったのは、技術力量の正式な評価と見ることができる」とし「国内AI技術の自立に寄与し、グローバル市場進出基盤を設けることができるように事業遂行に集中する」と明らかにした。
