AI 모델 개발 전문기업 모티프테크놀로지스(대표 임정환)가 국가유산청(청장 허민), 국가유산진흥원(원장 이귀영)과 협력해, 우리나라 국가유산을 기반으로 한 멀티모달 AI 기술 개발에 착수한다.
이번 과제는 과학기술정보통신부와 한국지능정보사회진흥원(NIA)이 주관하는 ‘2025년 민간 클라우드 기반 AI·데이터레이크 활용지원 사업’의 일환으로, 국가유산 데이터를 집약·가공하고, 이를 기반으로 한 데이터 분석 및 서비스 개발을 지원하는 범정부 디지털 전환 사업이다. 해당 과제에는 모티프테크놀로지스가 민간 부문 대표로 참여하며, 국가유산청 및 국가유산진흥원과 컨소시엄을 구성해 협력한다.
과제의 핵심은 국가유산의 정체성과 상징성을 반영한 이미지 생성형 파운데이션 모델 개발이다. 구체적으로는 문장을 입력하면 이미지로 변환하는 T2I(Text-to-Image) 기술을 적용한 멀티모달 AI 서비스를 구축하고, 이를 누구나 활용할 수 있도록 공개하는 것이 목표다.
이를 위해 국가유산청과 국가유산진흥원은 문화유산, 자연유산, 무형유산 등 세 가지 범주의 데이터를 수집·정제해 고품질 학습데이터로 가공할 계획이다. 모티프테크놀로지스는 여기에 한국어 특화 텍스트 데이터를 연계해 문화유산 해설 및 역사적 표현 등 문화적 맥락을 반영한 형태로 데이터를 정교화할 예정이다. 이를 통해 개발되는 모델은 한국 전통 이미지와 문화적 표현을 보다 정확하게 생성할 수 있도록 학습된다.
최종적으로 구축되는 멀티모달 AI 챗봇 서비스는 민간기업, 1인 창작자 등 일반 사용자도 활용할 수 있도록 API 형태로 제공될 예정이며, 국가유산디지털서비스 및 국가유산채널 등 기존 디지털 플랫폼과도 연계해 국민 접근성과 활용도를 높일 계획이다.
임정환 모티프테크놀로지스 대표는 “전통 이미지로 학습된 국내 최초의 한국형 이미지 생성 파운데이션 모델을 통해, 한국적인 이미지 표현뿐 아니라 관련 콘텐츠 제작의 효율성 향상도 기대할 수 있다”고 밝혔다.

Motif Technologies, in collaboration with the National Heritage Administration and the Korea Heritage Foundation, is developing a "Korean-style multimodal AI."
Motif Technologies (CEO Lim Jeong-hwan), a company specializing in AI model development, is collaborating with the National Heritage Administration (Director Heo Min) and the National Heritage Promotion Institute (Director Lee Gwi-young) to begin developing multimodal AI technology based on Korea's national heritage.
This project is part of the "2025 Private Cloud-Based AI and Data Lake Utilization Support Project," hosted by the Ministry of Science and ICT and the National Intelligence Service (NIA). This government-wide digital transformation initiative aims to aggregate and process national heritage data and support data analysis and service development based on this data. Motif Technologies will participate as the private sector representative in this project, forming a consortium with the National Heritage Administration and the National Heritage Promotion Agency.
The core of the project is the development of an image-generating foundation model that reflects the identity and symbolism of national heritage. Specifically, the goal is to build a multimodal AI service utilizing Text-to-Image (T2I) technology, which converts input sentences into images, and to make this service publicly available for anyone to utilize.
To this end, the National Heritage Administration and the National Heritage Promotion Institute plan to collect and refine data across three categories—cultural heritage, natural heritage, and intangible heritage—and process them into high-quality training data. Motif Technologies will refine this data by linking it to Korean-specific text data, reflecting cultural contexts such as cultural heritage commentary and historical expressions. The resulting model will be trained to more accurately generate traditional Korean images and cultural expressions.
The ultimately developed multimodal AI chatbot service will be provided in API format so that it can be utilized by general users, including private companies and individual creators. Furthermore, it will be linked to existing digital platforms, such as the National Heritage Digital Service and the National Heritage Channel, to increase public accessibility and usability.
Lim Jeong-hwan, CEO of Motif Technologies, said, “With Korea’s first Korean-style image generation foundation model trained on traditional images, we can expect not only improved expression of Korean images but also increased efficiency in producing related content.”

最終的に構築されるマルチモーダルAIチャットボットサービスは、民間企業、1人創作者など一般ユーザーも活用できるようにAPI形態で提供される予定であり、国家遺産デジタルサービスや国家遺産チャンネルなど既存のデジタルプラットフォームとも連携して国民のアクセス性と活用度を高める計画だ。

Motif Technologies (PDG Lim Jeong-hwan), une entreprise spécialisée dans le développement de modèles d'IA, collabore avec l'Administration nationale du patrimoine (directeur Heo Min) et l'Institut national de promotion du patrimoine (directeur Lee Gwi-young) pour commencer à développer une technologie d'IA multimodale basée sur le patrimoine national coréen.
Ce projet s'inscrit dans le cadre du « Projet de soutien à l'utilisation de l'IA et des lacs de données basés sur le cloud privé 2025 », piloté par le ministère des Sciences et des TIC et le Service national de renseignement (NIA). Le cœur du projet réside dans le développement d'un modèle de base de génération d'images reflétant l'identité et le symbolisme du patrimoine national. Plus précisément, l'objectif est de créer un service d'IA multimodal utilisant la technologie de conversion de texte en image (T2I), qui transforme des phrases en images, et de rendre ce service accessible à tous.
À cette fin, l’Administration nationale du patrimoine et l’Institut national de promotion du patrimoine prévoient de collecter et d’affiner des données réparties en trois catégories : patrimoine culturel, patrimoine naturel et patrimoine immatériel. Ces données seront ensuite traitées afin d’obtenir des données d’entraînement de haute qualité. Motif Technologies affinera ces données en les reliant à des données textuelles spécifiques à la Corée, reflétant des contextes culturels tels que des commentaires sur le patrimoine culturel et des expressions historiques. Le modèle ainsi obtenu sera entraîné à générer avec plus de précision des images et des expressions culturelles traditionnelles coréennes.
Le service de chatbot IA multimodal, une fois finalisé, sera proposé sous forme d'API afin d'être accessible au grand public, notamment aux entreprises privées et aux créateurs indépendants. De plus, il sera connecté aux plateformes numériques existantes, telles que le Service numérique du patrimoine national et la Chaîne du patrimoine national, afin d'en améliorer l'accessibilité et l'ergonomie.
Lim Jeong-hwan, PDG de Motif Technologies, a déclaré : « Grâce au premier modèle de base de génération d'images de style coréen entraîné sur des images traditionnelles, nous pouvons nous attendre non seulement à une meilleure expression des images coréennes, mais aussi à une efficacité accrue dans la production de contenu connexe. »
