다임리서치는 현대위아와 로봇 관제 솔루션 및 관련 사업 협력을 위한 비즈니스 파트너 협약을 체결했다고 18일 밝혔다. 이번 협약은 로봇 관제 솔루션을 중심으로 물류 자동화 분야 전반에서 양사가 보유한 기술과 경험을 결합하기 위해 마련됐다. 양사는 솔루션 성능 및 안전성 고도화, 협력 경험 공유, 공동 영업을 통한 시장 확대에 협력할 예정이다.
다임리서치는 KAIST 산업및시스템공학과 장영재 교수와 박사 연구진이 2020년 공동 창업한 기업으로, 제조 공장 내 다수의 로봇을 통합 제어하는 솔루션을 제공한다. 회사는 디지털 트윈과 강화학습을 활용한 자율제조 기술을 보유하고 있으며, 2025년 INFORMS 애널리틱스 컨퍼런스에서 우수 혁신사례상(IAAA)을 수상해 글로벌 기업 포드(Ford)에 이어 2위를 기록한 바 있다.
특히 피지컬 AI 기반 로봇 로직 및 동선 설계 자동화 소프트웨어를 개발해 기존 3~4주가 소요되던 물류 동선 설계를 약 3시간 내에 완료할 수 있는 기술을 확보했다. 해당 기술은 2026년 정부와 협업해 클라우드 기반으로 무료 배포될 예정이다.
현대위아는 300kg에서 1,500kg까지 다양한 가반하중을 지원하는 물류 로봇 라인업을 보유하며 모바일 로봇 시장 확대에 나서고 있다. 라이다(LiDAR) 기반 SLAM 자율주행 방식과 QR코드·자석을 활용한 AGV 운용 방식을 모두 지원하며, 고객 환경에 맞춘 자동화 물류 솔루션을 제공한다. 또한 컨베이어, 리프트, 턴테이블 등 다양한 차상장치를 적용해 다품종·소량생산 환경에서도 높은 효율성을 확보하고 있다.
다임리서치 장영재 대표는 이번 협약이 국내외 물류 자동화 시장에서 경쟁력을 강화하는 계기가 될 것이라고 전망하며, 제조 패러다임 전환기에 한국이 피지컬 AI 생태계의 주도권을 확보하는 데 중요한 의미가 있다고 밝혔다.

In particular, the company has developed physical AI-based robot logic and route design automation software, enabling logistics route design to be completed in approximately three hours, compared to the previous three to four weeks. This technology is slated for free distribution on a cloud-based basis in 2026, in collaboration with the government.
Hyundai Wia is expanding its presence in the mobile robot market with a lineup of logistics robots supporting a wide range of payloads, from 300 kg to 1,500 kg. Supporting both LiDAR-based SLAM autonomous driving and QR code/magnetic AGV operation, the company offers automated logistics solutions tailored to customer environments. Furthermore, by incorporating various onboard devices, such as conveyors, lifts, and turntables, the company ensures high efficiency even in high-variety, low-volume production environments.
