럭스바이옴은 설립 후 2년 차 초기 기업임에도 불구하고 기술보증기금으로부터 A+ 멤버스로 선정될 정도로 우수한 기술력을 자랑하는 스타트업이다. 럭스바이옴은 국내 최고의 마이크로바이옴 전문가인 김원용 대표가 설립한 회사로, 해당 분야에서 오랜 연구 및 사업화 경험을 바탕으로 창립되었다. 김원용 대표는 35년 이상의 선행 연구와 385억원의 누적 연구비를 통해 SCI급 논문 197편을 발표했으며, 롯데웰푸드 등 대기업과 공동으로 제품 개발 및 사업화를 진행하고 있어 기술력과 사업성에 대한 외부 입증을 진행하고 있다.

이번 투자유치를 함께 진행한 하임벤처투자 박대성 대표는 사모펀드·인수합병(M&A) 등에서 다양한 경험을 보유한 금융전문가로서, 스타트업 스케일업과 투자유치 경험을 바탕으로 300억원 규모의 벤처투자를 운용한 경험을 보유하고 있다. 이런 성과를 바탕으로 하임벤처투자는 현재 20억원 수준의 블라인드펀드를 운용하고 8개 기업에 투자하여 운용하고 있다.
