바이오인식 솔루션 전문기업 유니온바이오메트릭스가 ‘반려동물을 위한 출입관리시스템 및 그 출입관리방법’에 대한 국내 특허를 취득했다고 19일 밝혔다.
이번 특허는 반려동물의 고유 생체정보인 ‘비문(코 주름)’을 활용한 반려동물 인식 및 출입 관리 시스템에 관한 것이다. 반려동물 등록부터 인증, 출입 통제까지 일원화된 자동화 관리가 가능하다. 시스템은 단말기, 등록증 발급기, 중앙 서버로 구성된다. 반려동물의 비문 정보와 보호자 정보를 함께 등록하고, 이를 기반으로 등록증에 부여된 등록코드를 통해 출입 시 인증 절차를 진행하는 방식이다.
유니온바이오메트릭스는 해당 기술을 활용해 비문 기반의 반려동물 등록 솔루션 사업을 강화할 계획이다. 특히 전자태그(RFID) 기능과의 결합을 통해 동물등록제, 유기동물 방지 정책 등 정부 과제와 연계한 공공사업 확대를 추진한다. 또한 반려동물이 출입이 가능한 병원, 호텔, 유치원, 펫카페, 펫놀이터 등에 맞춤형 솔루션을 공급할 예정이다.
유니온바이오메트릭스는 국내 최초로 반려견 친화적 방식의 비문을 활용한 접촉식 등록 서비스를 상용화했다. 이미 기술을 확보한 비접촉식 비문 인식 기술까지 활용해 국내 비문 인식 시장을 선도할 계획이다.
회사 관계자는 “이번 특허는 세계 최초로 상용화에 성공한 접촉식 비문 인식 기술의 사업적 확장성을 뒷받침하는 핵심 기반”이라며 “반려동물 등록과 인증의 새로운 기준을 제시함으로써 국내외 펫테크 시장에서 생체인식 기반의 차세대 인증 기술을 지속적으로 선도해 나갈 것”이라고 밝혔다.
한편 정부는 모든 반려견에 대한 등록을 의무화하고, 기존 마이크로칩 방식 외에도 생체정보 기반 등록방식을 공식 등록 수단으로 도입하는 방안을 추진 중이다. 향후 보험사, 반려동물 유치원, 공공기관 등을 중심으로 비문 등록 및 인식 시스템 도입이 확대될 것으로 전망된다.

Union Biometrics Acquires Patent for Pet Entry Management
Union Biometrics, a biometric solution specialist, announced on the 19th that it has acquired a domestic patent for an 'entry control system for companion animals and its entry control method.'
This patent relates to a pet recognition and entry management system that utilizes the pet's unique biometric information, 'nose print (wrinkles on the nose)'. It enables integrated automated management from pet registration to authentication and access control. The system consists of a terminal, a registration card issuing machine, and a central server. The pet's nose print information and guardian information are registered together, and based on this, the authentication procedure is performed upon entry through the registration code assigned to the registration card.
Union Biometrics plans to strengthen its business of pet registration solutions based on the technology. In particular, it plans to expand public projects linked to government projects such as animal registration systems and abandoned animal prevention policies by combining with electronic tag (RFID) functions. It also plans to supply customized solutions to hospitals, hotels, kindergartens, pet cafes, and pet playgrounds where pets are allowed to enter.
Union Biometrics has commercialized the first domestic contact-based registration service utilizing a pet-friendly fingerprint. It plans to lead the domestic fingerprint recognition market by utilizing the non-contact fingerprint recognition technology it has already secured.
A company official said, “This patent is a key foundation that supports the business expandability of the world’s first commercialized contact-type fingerprint recognition technology,” and “By presenting a new standard for pet registration and authentication, we will continue to lead the next-generation authentication technology based on biometric recognition in the domestic and international pet tech markets.”
Meanwhile, the government is pushing forward with a plan to make registration mandatory for all companion dogs and introduce a biometric-based registration method as an official registration method in addition to the existing microchip method. In the future, it is expected that the introduction of the fingerprint registration and recognition system will expand to insurance companies, pet kindergartens, and public institutions.

ユニオンバイオメトリックスは、韓国で初めてペットフレンドリーな方式の碑文を活用した接触式登録サービスを商用化した。すでに技術を確保した非接触式碑文認識技術まで活用し、国内の碑文認識市場をリードする計画だ。
会社関係者は「今回の特許は、世界で初めて商用化に成功した接触式碑文認識技術の事業的拡張性を裏付ける核心基盤」とし、「ペット登録と認証の新たな基準を提示することで、国内外のペットテック市場で生体認識基盤の次世代認証技術を継続的にリードしていく」と明らかにした。
一方、政府はすべての伴侶犬に対する登録を義務化し、既存のマイクロチップ方式の他に、生体情報ベースの登録方式を公式登録手段として導入する方案を推進している。今後保険会社、伴侶動物幼稚園、公共機関などを中心に碑文登録及び認識システムの導入が拡大すると見込まれる。

Union Biometrics acquiert un brevet pour la gestion des entrées d'animaux de compagnie
Union Biometrics, spécialiste des solutions biométriques, a annoncé le 19 avoir acquis un brevet national pour un « système de contrôle d'entrée pour animaux de compagnie et sa méthode de contrôle d'entrée ».
Ce brevet concerne un système de reconnaissance et de gestion des entrées d'animaux de compagnie qui utilise les informations biométriques uniques de l'animal, « l'empreinte du nez (rides sur le nez) ». Une gestion automatisée intégrée est possible, de l'enregistrement des animaux de compagnie à l'authentification et au contrôle d'accès. Le système se compose d’un terminal, d’une machine émettrice de cartes d’enregistrement et d’un serveur central. Il s'agit d'une méthode d'enregistrement des informations d'inscription de l'animal et des informations du tuteur ensemble, puis de procéder à une procédure d'authentification lors de l'entrée en utilisant le code d'enregistrement attribué au certificat d'enregistrement sur cette base.
Union Biometrics prévoit d'utiliser cette technologie pour renforcer son activité de solutions d'enregistrement d'animaux de compagnie par SMS. Nous favoriserons notamment l’expansion des projets publics liés aux tâches gouvernementales telles que le système d’enregistrement des animaux et la politique de prévention des abandons d’animaux en les combinant avec les fonctions d’étiquettes électroniques (RFID). Nous prévoyons également de fournir des solutions personnalisées aux hôpitaux, hôtels, jardins d'enfants, cafés pour animaux de compagnie et aires de jeux pour animaux de compagnie où les animaux de compagnie sont autorisés.

Il est prévu que l’introduction du système d’enregistrement et de reconnaissance des animaux de compagnie s’étende à l’avenir, en se concentrant sur les compagnies d’assurance, les jardins d’enfants pour animaux de compagnie et les institutions publiques.
