중소벤처기업부(장관 오영주, 이하 중기부)는 지난 26일 글로벌 유니콘으로 성장할 가능성이 높은 ‘아기유니콘’ 기업 50개를 최종 선정했다고 밝혔다.
아기유니콘 육성사업은 투자시장으로부터 기업가치를 검증받은 혁신 기업을 발굴하여 글로벌경쟁력을 갖춘 유니콘 기업으로 성장을 촉진하는 ‘글로벌 유니콘 프로젝트’의 일환이다. ’20년부터 추진되어 금년까지 총 350개 기업을 선정하였고, 올해는 총 217개 기업이 신청하여 최종 50개사를 선정하여 약 4.3:1의 경쟁률을 기록했다.
선정된 50개 사 중 약 86%(43개사)가 AI·빅데이터 등 딥테크 10대 분야의 기술을 보유한 기업으로 평균적으로‘기업가치 321억 원, 투자유치금액 약 56.1억 원, 매출액 약 44억 원, 고용인원 약 30명’을 기록해, 투자시장으로부터 기술력과 기업가치를 검증받은 유망기업들이 선정됐다.
선정기업 중 ㈜스케치소프트는 생성형 AI를 연계한 3D 드로잉 애플리케이션 서비스를 제공하는 기업으로, 사용자가 2D 펜, 터치 입력만을 활용하여 자동으로 3D 그래픽 도면을 제작할 수 있는 대화형 컴퓨터그래픽 소프트웨어 기술을 통해 글로벌 120개국에서 매출이 발생하고 있다.
㈜이플로우는 인휠(In-wheel) 모터 제조사로, 소형·경량화가 가능한 축 방향 자속형 모터(AFPM) 상용화 기술을 확보하여 소형 고출력 모터가 필요한 차세대 모빌리티, 로봇, 항공우주 등에 활용할 수 있는 혁신기술을 보유한 딥테크 기업이다.
선정된 기업에는 시장개척자금(최대 3억 원)과 기술보증기금의 특별보증(최대 50억 원)이 지원되며 올해부터 ‘성과연동 보증제도’를 도입해 선정기업이 ‘후속 투자, 매출’ 등에서 일정 성과를 달성하면 별도 심사 없이 추가로 보증을 지원하여 스케일업에 필요한 자금을 공급할 예정이다.
이외에도 글로벌 시장 진출을 위한 ▲현지 글로벌 IR 및 글로벌 기술 박람회 참여 ▲KOTRA 무역관과의 협력을 통한 글로벌 시장 진출 프로그램 운영 ▲전략적 글로벌 시장 진출을 위한 글로벌 컨설팅 프로그램 등을 운영한다.
오영주 장관은 “그간 아기·예비 유니콘 기업들이 선정 이후 지속해서 후속 투자를 유치하고 기업공개(IPO)에 성공하는 등 성과를 보이고 있다”며 “아기유니콘 기업이 ‘예비유니콘’을 넘어 ‘글로벌 유니콘’으로 도약할 수 있도록 정책적 지원을 꾸준히 확대해 나가겠다”고 밝혔다.

They recorded an average of 'corporate value of 32.1 billion won, investment attraction amount of approximately 5.61 billion won, sales of approximately 4.4 billion won, and approximately 30 employees,' and were selected as promising companies whose technology and corporate value have been verified by the investment market.
Among the selected companies, SketchSoft Inc. is a company that provides a 3D drawing application service linked to generative AI. It generates sales in 120 countries around the world through interactive computer graphics software technology that allows users to automatically create 3D graphic drawings using only a 2D pen and touch input.
iFlow Co., Ltd. is an in-wheel motor manufacturer. It is a deep-tech company that possesses innovative technologies that can be utilized in next-generation mobility, robots, aerospace, etc. that require small, high-output motors by securing commercialization technology for axial flux-type motors (AFPMs) that can be made small and lightweight.
The selected companies will be supported with market development funds (up to 300 million won) and special guarantees from the Technology Guarantee Fund (up to 5 billion won). Starting this year, a ‘performance-linked guarantee system’ will be introduced so that if the selected companies achieve certain results in ‘follow-up investment, sales,’ etc., they will be provided with additional guarantees without separate screening, thereby supplying the funds necessary for scale-up.

(株)イフローはインホイールモーターメーカーで、小型・軽量化が可能な軸方向磁束型モータ(AFPM)の商用化技術を確保し、小型高出力モータが必要な次世代モビリティ、ロボット、航空宇宙などに活用できる革新技術を保有したディープテック企業だ。
選定された企業には、市場開拓資金（最大3億ウォン）と技術保証基金の特別保証（最大50億ウォン）が支援され、今年から「成果連動保証制度」を導入し、選定企業が「後続投資、売上」などで一定の成果を達成すれば、別途審査なしで追加保証を支援し、スケールアップに必要な資金を供給。
