HD현대일렉트릭이 전력 산업 내 기술 혁신과 지속 가능한 성장을 위한 오픈이노베이션 프로그램 ‘파워업 HDE(PowerUp HDE)’의 참가 스타트업 모집을 시작했다고 4일 밝혔다.
‘파워업 HDE’는 HD현대일렉트릭이 주관하고, 딥테크 분야 스타트업 엑셀러레이터인 블루포인트와 글로벌 오픈이노베이션 플랫폼 플러그앤플레이(Plug and Play)가 공동 운영하는 전략적 산학협력 프로그램이다. 이를 통해 HD현대일렉트릭은 전력 산업의 미래 경쟁력 확보와 기술 융합 기반의 생태계 조성을 목표로 하고 있다.
이번 프로그램은 △차세대 전력기술 △친환경 에너지 △디지털 전환 등 3대 핵심 분야를 중심으로 유망 기술을 보유한 스타트업을 발굴한다. 선정된 기업은 약 5개월간 HD현대일렉트릭의 전담 태스크포스(TF)와 협업하여 실증(PoC) 프로젝트를 수행하며, 기술의 산업 현장 적용 가능성을 평가받는다.
실증 프로젝트를 성공적으로 마친 스타트업에는 공동 기술 개발, 후속 투자, 장기 파트너십 체결 등의 후속 연계 기회가 주어진다. 이외에도 사업화 컨설팅, 전문가 멘토링, 개발비 지원 등 다양한 맞춤형 지원이 제공된다.
프로그램 운영을 맡은 블루포인트는 다수 대기업과의 오픈이노베이션 경험을 기반으로 실증에서 사업화까지 이어지는 협력 모델을 구축해왔으며, 플러그앤플레이는 전 세계 60여 개 거점 네트워크를 통해 글로벌 스타트업 소싱을 담당한다.

HD Hyundai Electric announced on the 4th that it has started recruiting startups to participate in 'PowerUp HDE', an open innovation program for technological innovation and sustainable growth in the electric power industry.
'Power Up HDE' is a strategic industry-academia cooperation program hosted by HD Hyundai Electric and jointly operated by Bluepoint, a deep-tech startup accelerator, and Plug and Play, a global open innovation platform. Through this, HD Hyundai Electric aims to secure future competitiveness in the electric power industry and create an ecosystem based on technology convergence.
This program will discover startups with promising technologies centered on three key areas: △Next-generation power technology △Eco-friendly energy △Digital transformation. The selected companies will collaborate with HD Hyundai Electric’s dedicated task force (TF) for approximately five months to conduct a proof-of-concept (PoC) project and evaluate the potential application of the technology to industrial sites.
Startups that successfully complete a demonstration project are given follow-up opportunities such as joint technology development, follow-up investment, and long-term partnerships. In addition, various customized support services such as commercialization consulting, expert mentoring, and development cost support are provided.
Bluepoint, which is in charge of operating the program, has built a collaboration model that goes from verification to commercialization based on its open innovation experience with many large corporations, while Plug and Play is in charge of global startup sourcing through a network of approximately 60 bases around the world.
Kim Young-ki, CEO of HD Hyundai Electric, said, “In the midst of rapid changes in the electric power industry, active collaboration with external technologies is necessary to lead true innovation,” and added, “Through this program, we will build sustainable collaboration cases with promising startups that will create the future electric power industry together.”
