스마트팩토리 자동화 시스템 전문기업 코윈테크가 경기도 동탄테크노밸리로 R&D센터를 확장이전하고, 로보틱스 분야 기술 역량 강화를 본격화한다고 17일 밝혔다.
코윈테크는 지난 16일 동탄테크노밸리 내 신규 R&D센터 개소식을 개최했다. 행사에는 이재환 회장, 최현순 대표이사를 비롯한 임직원 약 30명이 참석해 연구개발 거점의 새 출발을 기념했다.
이번 R&D센터 확장을 통해 코윈테크는 반도체, 인공지능(AI), 자율주행 등 첨단 기술 분야 인력 확보는 물론, ▲비전 센싱 ▲AI 기반 알고리즘 ▲엣지 컴퓨팅 ▲정밀 제어 기술 등 자율주행 이동 로봇(AMR)의 핵심 기술 개발을 가속화할 계획이다.
코윈테크는 자체 AMR 설계 및 제작 역량을 기반으로, MRS(Mobile Robot Storage), OHMS(Overhead Hoist Mobile Shuttle) 등 차세대 모바일 로봇 솔루션에 대한 전문 연구도 이곳에서 집중적으로 추진할 예정이다.
회사는 이차전지를 비롯해 석유화학, 재생에너지, 식품 등 다양한 산업군에 AMR 제품을 공급한 이력을 갖고 있다. 앞으로 해당 R&D센터를 통해 적용 산업군을 더욱 확대하고, 연내 신제품 개발 및 양산 체계를 본격화할 방침이다.
최현순 대표이사는 “이번 R&D센터 확장은 연구개발뿐 아니라 기술영업 부문까지 포함한 조직 재정비 차원”이라며 “AMR 기술 고도화를 통해 스마트 물류와 생산 현장의 자동화를 선도하고, 빠르게 성장하는 시장에서 경쟁력을 강화할 것”이라고 밝혔다.
또한 “향후 자동화 산업에서 요구되는 다양한 기술 수요를 선제적으로 대응할 수 있도록 제품 개발과 사업화 역량을 함께 키워나가겠다”고 덧붙였다.

The company has a history of supplying AMR products to various industries including secondary batteries, petrochemicals, renewable energy, and food. In the future, the company plans to further expand the applicable industries through the R&D center and launch a full-scale new product development and mass production system within the year.
CEO Choi Hyun-soon said, “This R&D center expansion is part of an organizational restructuring that includes not only R&D but also the technical sales division,” and added, “Through the advancement of AMR technology, we will lead smart logistics and automation of production sites, and strengthen our competitiveness in the rapidly growing market.”
He also added, “We will work together to develop product development and commercialization capabilities so that we can proactively respond to the diverse technological demands required in the future automation industry.”

同社は二次電池をはじめ、石油化学、再生エネルギー、食品など多様な産業群にAMR製品を供給した履歴を持っている。今後、該当R&Dセンターを通じて適用産業群をさらに拡大し、年内の新製品開発及び量産体系を本格化する方針だ。
チェ・ヒョンスン代表取締役は「今回のR&Dセンター拡張は研究開発だけでなく技術営業部門まで含む組織再整備次元」とし「AMR技術の高度化を通じてスマート物流と生産現場の自動化を先導し、急速に成長する市場で競争力を強化する」と明らかにした。
