AI 기반 의료기술 기업 웨이센은 7월 4일 베트남 중부 종합병원인 후에중앙병원(Hue Central Hospital)과 인공지능(AI) 내시경 솔루션 ‘웨이메드 엔도(WAYMED Endo)’의 임상 활용 및 현지 확산을 위한 업무협약(MOU)을 체결했다고 7일 밝혔다.
이번 협약은 양 기관이 올해 상반기부터 공동 진행 중인 ‘웨이메드 엔도’ 관련 임상연구 협력의 연장선으로, 베트남 의료 환경에서의 AI 내시경 기술의 실질적 도입과 확대를 위한 기반 마련에 초점이 맞춰졌다. 현재 양측은 실제 임상 환경에서 해당 기술의 유효성과 적용 가능성에 대한 검증을 진행 중이다.
후에중앙병원은 1894년에 설립된 베트남 보건부 산하의 핵심 의료기관으로, 총 5,500병상 규모를 갖추고 있다. 베트남 중부 지역 의료를 총괄하는 역할을 수행하고 있으며, 하루 평균 300건 이상의 내시경 검사를 진행하는 내시경 센터를 운영 중이다.
‘웨이메드 엔도’를 활용한 임상연구 결과는 4월 베트남 VGEC 2025 학회와 6월 국제소화기내시경학회(IDEN 2025)에서 각각 발표된 바 있으며, 해당 기술의 임상적 효용성이 주목받았다.
후에중앙병원 병원장 팜느히엡(Pham Nhu Hiep)은 “내시경 스크리닝의 중요성을 고려할 때, AI 기술 도입은 병원의 진단 역량을 강화하는 계기가 될 수 있다”고 밝혔다.
웨이센 김경남 대표는 “후에중앙병원과의 협력은 자사 AI 내시경 기술의 임상적 신뢰성 확보에 중요한 역할을 하게 될 것”이라며, “향후 베트남 전역으로의 기술 확대를 통해 조기 진단 및 의료 접근성 개선에 기여하겠다”고 말했다.

Wei Sen signs business agreement with Hue Central Hospital in Vietnam
AI-based medical technology company Waysen announced on the 7th that it signed a business agreement (MOU) with Hue Central Hospital, a general hospital in central Vietnam, on July 4th for the clinical use and local expansion of its artificial intelligence (AI) endoscopic solution 'WAYMED Endo'.
This agreement is an extension of the clinical research collaboration related to 'WayMed Endo' that the two organizations have been conducting since the first half of this year, and is focused on establishing a foundation for the practical introduction and expansion of AI endoscopy technology in the Vietnamese medical environment. Currently, both parties are verifying the validity and applicability of the technology in an actual clinical environment.
Hue Central Hospital is a key medical institution under the Ministry of Health of Vietnam, established in 1894, with a total of 5,500 beds. It plays a role in overseeing medical services in the central region of Vietnam and operates an endoscopy center that performs an average of more than 300 endoscopy examinations per day.
The results of clinical studies using 'WayMed Endo' were presented at the Vietnam VGEC 2025 conference in April and the International Society of Gastrointestinal Endoscopy (IDEN 2025) in June, and the clinical effectiveness of the technology garnered attention.
“Considering the importance of endoscopic screening, the introduction of AI technology can be an opportunity to enhance the hospital’s diagnostic capacity,” said Dr. Pham Nhu Hiep, director of Hue Central Hospital.
“Our collaboration with Hue Central Hospital will play a key role in ensuring the clinical reliability of our AI endoscopy technology,” said Weixen CEO Kim Kyung-nam. “We will expand our technology throughout Vietnam in the future to contribute to early diagnosis and improved accessibility to medical care.”

Wei Sen signe un accord commercial avec l'hôpital central de Hue au Vietnam
Waysen, société de technologie médicale basée sur l'IA, a annoncé le 7 juillet avoir signé un accord commercial (MOU) avec l'hôpital central de Hue, un hôpital général du centre du Vietnam, le 4 juillet pour l'utilisation clinique et l'expansion locale de sa solution endoscopique d'intelligence artificielle (IA) « WAYMED Endo ».
Cet accord s'inscrit dans le prolongement de la collaboration de recherche clinique autour de « WayMed Endo », menée par les deux organisations depuis le premier semestre de cette année, et vise à jeter les bases de l'introduction et du développement pratique de la technologie endoscopique basée sur l'IA dans le milieu médical vietnamien. Les deux parties vérifient actuellement la validité et l'applicabilité de cette technologie en milieu clinique réel.
L'hôpital central de Hué est un établissement médical clé dépendant du ministère de la Santé du Vietnam. Fondé en 1894, il compte 5 500 lits. Il supervise les services médicaux dans la région centrale du Vietnam et gère un centre d'endoscopie qui réalise en moyenne plus de 300 examens endoscopiques par jour.
Les résultats des études cliniques utilisant « WayMed Endo » ont été présentés lors de la conférence Vietnam VGEC 2025 en avril et de la Société internationale d'endoscopie gastro-intestinale (IDEN 2025) en juin, et l'efficacité clinique de la technologie a retenu l'attention.
« Compte tenu de l’importance du dépistage endoscopique, l’introduction de la technologie de l’IA peut être une opportunité d’améliorer la capacité de diagnostic de l’hôpital », a déclaré le Dr Pham Nhu Hiep, directeur de l’hôpital central de Hue.
« Notre collaboration avec l'hôpital central de Hué jouera un rôle essentiel pour garantir la fiabilité clinique de notre technologie d'endoscopie basée sur l'IA », a déclaré Kim Kyung-nam, PDG de Weixen. « Nous allons étendre notre technologie à tout le Vietnam afin de contribuer au diagnostic précoce et d'améliorer l'accès aux soins médicaux. »
