AI 기반 디지털 병리 솔루션 기업 ㈜에이비스(AIVIS Inc., 대표 이대홍)가 중소벤처기업부의 민간투자주도형 기술창업지원 프로그램인 ‘스케일업 팁스(Scale-up TIPS)’에 최종 선정됐다고 11일 밝혔다. 이번 사업은 인탑스인베스트먼트가 운영사로 참여했다.
‘스케일업 팁스’는 기술력과 성장 가능성을 갖춘 유망 중소벤처기업을 대상으로 민간 투자와 정부 지원을 연계해 집중 육성하는 사업이다. 에이비스는 이번 선정으로 향후 3년간 연구개발(R&D) 및 사업화 자금 약 12억 원을 지원받는다.
에이비스는 현재 4종의 바이오마커 분석 기술과 관련 식약처 인허가 경험을 보유하고 있으며, 이번 과제를 통해 ‘범암종(Pan-Cancer) 다중 바이오마커 정량 분석 AI 플랫폼’ 개발에 본격 착수할 계획이다.
현재 면역조직화학(IHC) 염색 결과에 대한 판독은 병리 전문의의 육안 판독에 의존하고 있어 진단의 주관성과 재현성 문제가 지적되고 있다. 에이비스는 AI 기반 바이오마커 정량화 소프트웨어 ‘콴티 IHC(Qanti IHC)’를 통해 해당 문제에 대한 기술적 대안을 제시하고 있으며, 식품의약품안전처의 소프트웨어 의료기기 품목허가도 이미 획득한 상태다.
회사는 이번 플랫폼 고도화를 통해 갑상선암, 폐암, 위암 등 다양한 암종과 바이오마커 분석을 통합적으로 수행할 수 있는 기술 기반을 확보하고, 이를 글로벌 시장으로 확장한다는 전략이다.
이대홍 에이비스 대표는 “이번 스케일업 팁스 선정은 에이비스의 기술력과 성장 비전에 대한 객관적 평가”라며, “지원 자금을 바탕으로 플랫폼 완성도를 높이고, 유럽 CE 인증과 아시아권 인허가 등을 통해 글로벌 시장 진출을 본격화할 것”이라고 밝혔다.

Avis selected as 'Scale-up Tips' by the Ministry of SMEs and Startups
AIVIS Inc. (CEO Daehong Lee), an AI-based digital pathology solution company, announced on the 11th that it was finally selected for 'Scale-up TIPS', a private investment-led technology startup support program of the Ministry of SMEs and Startups. Intops Investment participated as the operator of this project.
'Scale-up Tips' is a project that focuses on fostering promising small and medium-sized venture companies with technological prowess and growth potential by linking private investment and government support. With this selection, Avis will receive approximately 1.2 billion won in R&D and commercialization funds over the next three years.
Avis currently has experience in obtaining approval from the Ministry of Food and Drug Safety for four types of biomarker analysis technologies, and plans to begin full-scale development of a ‘Pan-Cancer Multi-Biomarker Quantitative Analysis AI Platform’ through this project.
Currently, the interpretation of immunohistochemical (IHC) staining results relies on the visual interpretation of a pathologist, which has raised issues with the subjectivity and reproducibility of diagnosis. Avis is proposing a technological alternative to this problem through its AI-based biomarker quantification software, ‘Qanti IHC’, and has already obtained approval for the software medical device from the Ministry of Food and Drug Safety.
The company's strategy is to secure a technology base that can comprehensively perform biomarker analysis of various cancer types, including thyroid cancer, lung cancer, and stomach cancer, through this platform advancement, and to expand this into the global market.
Lee Dae-hong, CEO of Avis, said, “This selection as Scale-Up Tips is an objective evaluation of Avis’s technological prowess and growth vision,” and added, “Based on the support funds, we will enhance the completeness of our platform and fully advance into the global market through European CE certification and Asian licensing.”

現在、免疫組織化学（ＩＨＣ）染色結果に対する読みは病理専門医の目視読みに依存しており、診断の主観性と再現性の問題が指摘されている。エイビスはAIベースのバイオマーカー定量化ソフトウェア「Qanti IHC（Qanti IHC）」を通じて該当問題に対する技術的代替案を提示しており、食品医薬品安全処のソフトウェア医療機器品目許可もすでに取得している。
同社は今回のプラットフォーム高度化を通じて甲状腺がん、肺がん、胃がんなど多様ながん種とバイオマーカー分析を統合的に遂行できる技術基盤を確保し、これをグローバル市場に拡張するという戦略だ。

Avis sélectionné comme « Scale-up Tips » par le ministère des PME et des Startups
AIVIS Inc. (PDG : Daehong Lee), société de solutions de pathologie numérique basées sur l'IA, a annoncé le 11 juin avoir été sélectionnée pour « Scale-up TIPS », un programme de soutien aux startups technologiques financé par des investissements privés du ministère des PME et des startups. Intops Investment a participé à ce projet en tant qu'opérateur.
« Scale-up Tips » est un projet visant à soutenir les PME prometteuses, dotées d'une expertise technologique et d'un potentiel de croissance, en associant investissements privés et soutien public. Grâce à cette sélection, Avis recevra environ 1,2 milliard de wons en fonds de R&D et de commercialisation au cours des trois prochaines années.
Avis possède actuellement de l'expérience dans l'obtention de l'approbation du ministère de la Sécurité alimentaire et pharmaceutique pour quatre types de technologies d'analyse de biomarqueurs et prévoit de commencer le développement à grande échelle d'une « plate-forme d'IA d'analyse quantitative multi-biomarqueurs pan-cancer » grâce à ce projet.
Actuellement, l'interprétation des résultats de coloration immunohistochimique (IHC) repose sur l'interprétation visuelle d'un pathologiste, ce qui soulève des questions de subjectivité et de reproductibilité du diagnostic. Avis propose une alternative technologique à ce problème grâce à son logiciel de quantification de biomarqueurs basé sur l'IA, « Qanti IHC », et a déjà obtenu l'approbation du ministère de la Sécurité alimentaire et pharmaceutique pour ce dispositif médical.
La stratégie de l'entreprise est de sécuriser une base technologique capable d'effectuer de manière exhaustive une analyse des biomarqueurs de divers types de cancer, notamment le cancer de la thyroïde, le cancer du poumon et le cancer de l'estomac, grâce à cette avancée de la plateforme, et de l'étendre au marché mondial.
Lee Dae-hong, PDG d'Avis, a déclaré : « Cette sélection en tant que Scale-Up Tips est une évaluation objective des prouesses technologiques et de la vision de croissance d'Avis », et a ajouté : « Sur la base des fonds de soutien, nous améliorerons l'exhaustivité de notre plateforme et progresserons pleinement sur le marché mondial grâce à la certification CE européenne et aux licences asiatiques. »
