인공지능(AI) 기반 언어 데이터 및 통번역 솔루션 전문 기업 플리토(대표 이정수)는 올해 열린 아시아태평양경제협력체(APEC) 고위관리회의(SOM) 1·2·3차 회의 전 과정에 자사의 AI 통번역 솔루션을 제공했다고 11일 밝혔다.
APEC 고위관리회의는 21개 회원국 고위 인사들이 참여해 경제 협력과 정책 방안을 논의하는 다자간 협력 플랫폼이다. 플리토는 지난 1월 경주에서 열린 SOM1, 4월 제주에서 열린 SOM2, 그리고 최근 인천에서 개최된 SOM3까지 연속 참여해 다양한 통번역 서비스를 지원했다.
SOM3에서는 송도컨벤시아 행사장 메인 인포데스크, 인천국제공항 제1·2터미널 내 APEC 전용 공간, 주요 행사 숙소인 쉐라톤·오크우드·경원재 등 6개 호텔에 ‘챗 트랜스레이션 엔터프라이즈(Chat Translation Enterprise)’가 도입됐다. 앞선 SOM1과 SOM2에서도 동일 솔루션과 함께 다중 사용자 동시통역 기능을 갖춘 ‘라이브 트랜스레이션(Live Translation)’이 적용됐다.
플리토의 AI 통번역 솔루션은 최대 38개 언어를 지원하며, 고자원 언어뿐 아니라 상대적으로 통역 자원이 부족한 저자원 언어까지 포괄해 다국적 행사 참석자 간 원활한 소통을 지원한 것으로 평가받고 있다.
이번 회의 연속 참여를 통해 플리토는 국제 행사에서의 AI 통번역 기술력과 현장 대응 역량을 입증했다. 회사 측에 따르면, 이를 계기로 공공기관 및 다양한 국내외 행사 주최 측과의 협업 문의가 이어지고 있다.

Pluto Provides AI Translation and Interpretation Solutions for the APEC Senior Officials' Meeting

The APEC Senior Officials' Meeting (SOM) is a multilateral cooperation platform where high-ranking officials from 21 member countries participate to discuss economic cooperation and policy measures. At SOM3, "Chat Translation Enterprise" was implemented at the main information desk at the Songdo Convensia event venue, the dedicated APEC spaces in Incheon International Airport Terminals 1 and 2, and six hotels serving as key event accommodations, including the Sheraton, Oakwood, and Gyeongwonjae. The same solution, along with "Live Translation," featuring multi-user simultaneous interpretation capabilities, was also implemented at SOM1 and SOM2.
Pluto's AI interpretation and translation solution supports up to 38 languages, and is recognized for supporting smooth communication among participants at multinational events by encompassing not only high-resource languages but also low-resource languages with relatively limited interpretation resources.
Through this series of conferences, Pluto has demonstrated its AI translation and interpretation technology and on-site response capabilities at international events. According to the company, this has led to a surge in inquiries from public institutions and various domestic and international event organizers regarding collaboration.

亚太经合组织高官会（SOM）是一个多边合作平台，21个成员国的高级官员将出席会议，讨论经济合作和政策措施。Pluto已参加多届SOM，包括1月在庆州举行的SOM1、4月在济州举行的SOM2以及最近在仁川举行的SOM3，并提供各种口译和笔译服务。
