Jeollanam-do Volunteer Center (Director Kim Sang-gil) and Digital Learning Center (Director Jo Yun-jeong) signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) in the Jeollanam-do Volunteer Center conference room on the 18th and decided to establish a cooperative system to strengthen the capabilities of the digitally vulnerable class in the province and to activate volunteerism.
Under this agreement, the two organizations will jointly pursue various collaborative projects, including providing digital education tailored to everyday life, operating a digital competency-focused volunteer program, and connecting with a mobile digital education volunteer group. Specifically, they will integrate practical content, such as kiosk usage, social media utilization, and digital literacy training, into volunteer activities, thereby enhancing volunteers' capabilities and expanding their scope of activity.
The Jeonnam Volunteer Center plans to operate a "Digital Delivery Education Service" in collaboration with a group of young digital mentors and volunteers trained by the Digital Learning Center, visiting senior centers, community centers, and welfare facilities in areas with limited digital access. This service is expected to enable practical, on-site digital support.
“I hope that this agreement will help residents address the digital inconveniences they face in their daily lives and provide an opportunity to learn with volunteers and adapt to the digital transformation,” said Jo Yoon-jung, director of the Digital Learning Center.
Kim Sang-gil, director of the Jeonnam Volunteer Center, said, “This will be an opportunity for volunteers to provide practical digital support to neighbors struggling with the information gap,” adding, “I hope that the combination of digital education and volunteerism will revitalize the local community.”
