Laon Meta (CEO Lee Soon-hyung), a generative artificial intelligence (AI)-based metaverse platform company, announced on the 28th that it signed a 'Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) for cooperation on metaverse-based practical content' with YST (CEO Jeon Young-saeng), a company specializing in realistic content.
This agreement aims to jointly develop practical content to cultivate professionals in the future vehicle field. It focuses on complementing the limitations of current training and enhancing practical application. Under the agreement, the two companies plan to provide specialized curricula, including understanding electric vehicle (EV) and hybrid vehicle (HEV) systems and high-voltage battery structures, through the metaverse practical training platform "MetaDemi."
According to the Korea Automobile Research Institute's "2024 Automotive Industry Manpower Survey," future vehicle and parts professionals account for 61% of the overall shortage in the automotive industry. Raon Meta anticipates that practical training content utilizing the metaverse will help alleviate this workforce shortage and simultaneously meet the needs of both educational institutions and industry.
Metademi has previously offered hands-on content in various fields, including laboratory animal dissection, nursing skills, and physical therapy. With this expansion into electric vehicle-related content, Metademi plans to expand its target market to include specialized educational institutions and vocational colleges. Multilingual functionality has also been implemented, laying the foundation for expansion into overseas educational markets.
Learners who complete the practical curriculum of the service will be issued a certificate of completion based on Laon Secure's credentialing platform, 'OmniOne Badge', which can be used as proof for various purposes such as completing education or finding employment.
Through this agreement, YST plans to focus on increasing the actual usability of content based on its content production capabilities based on realistic technologies such as virtual reality (VR), augmented reality (AR), and extended reality (XR) and its experience in developing content based on AI technology.
Yoon Won-seok, head of the Metademi Business Division at Raon Meta, said, “We expect that this collaboration will provide a realistic alternative for practical training on future vehicles, including electric vehicles,” and added, “We will continue to expand the area of metaverse-based practical content by collaborating with various industries.”
