Incheon Center for Creative Economy and Innovation (CEO Lee Han-seop, hereinafter referred to as the “Incheon Center”) officially launched the “Incheon AX (AI Transformation) Committee” at the Center’s Idea Space on the 29th, and Incheon Center CEO Lee Han-seop was elected as the committee chairman.
"AX (Artificial Intelligence Transformation)" is a strategy that integrates AI technology across a company's entire production and service processes to drive efficiency and innovation. It is being utilized in diverse fields, including smart manufacturing, customized services, and logistics optimization. Amid rapid market growth, demand from local companies is also increasing. Incheon City recently declared its vision for a "People-Centered AI Coexistence City," emphasizing the creation of an AI innovation ecosystem across industries.
This committee was attended by around 10 organizations, including 4 universities including Incheon National University, Inha University, Gyeongin National University of Education, and Kangnam University, companies such as KT, Mondrian AI, Tesolo, and Beta Lab, and public institutions such as AC and Incheon Headquarters of Korea Industrial Complex Management Corporation. It was composed of 3 subcommittees including ▲Technology Expert Division ▲Policy Cooperation Division ▲Industry Cooperation Division, and a total of 14 members.
The committee will perform the following roles in the future: ▲discovering technologies and solutions for AX conversion and deriving on-site application plans; ▲establishing a policy foundation and improving systems to support AX conversion; ▲identifying the industry's demand for AX conversion and expanding its application.
A variety of opinions were expressed at the launch ceremony. Park In-gyu, Director of the Artificial Intelligence Convergence Center at Inha University, emphasized, "AX is currently a critical topic for local industries and businesses, and the formation of a consultative body that can jointly lead this change at the regional level is very significant." He added, "I look forward to the Incheon AX Committee faithfully fulfilling its role, and I hope that smooth cooperation will lead to innovative achievements for Incheon."
The representative of Mondrian AI in Hongdae said, “As the government is pursuing various policies for the great transformation of AI, I hope that these policies will become a driving force for actual implementation in Incheon,” and “Incheon has a well-established industrial base and infrastructure, so the government policy and local capacity will be able to interlock to produce greater results.”
Lee Han-seop, CEO of the Incheon Center, said, “The launch of this committee will be a meaningful opportunity to strengthen the business competitiveness of Incheon-area startups and establish a new growth foundation for local industries,” and added, “We will work closely with relevant organizations to produce tangible results and make Incheon a leading AI innovation hub city in Korea.”
