Hexagon Concludes 'Hexagon Live Innovation Summit Korea 2025'

Hexagon Manufacturing Intelligence (Hexagon) held the 'Hexagon Live Innovation Summit Korea 2025' at the aT Center in Yangjae-dong, Seoul on the 3rd.

At this summit, Hexagon showcased a wide range of products including ▲precision measurement hardware and software ▲Geomagic reverse engineering and quality inspection solutions ▲CAD/CAM software ▲3D scanning technology from Leica Geosystems, and highlighted the future of digital innovation and precision measurement through practical application cases based on the Hexagon portfolio.

The keynote address was delivered by Lim Boon-choon, President of Hexagon Manufacturing Intelligence, ASEAN, Pacific, and India, who emphasized that precision measurement and smart digital twins are key drivers of manufacturing innovation. Citing the "Advanced Manufacturing Report 2025," published in collaboration with Forrester, he noted that digital twins are emerging as a key investment area that enables companies to achieve agility and quality innovation. He went on to emphasize that Hexagon supports this industrial transformation through precision measurement technology and data-driven solutions that connect the real and virtual, contributing to the manufacturing industry's path to an autonomous and competitive future.

Next, Khan Faheem, President of Leica Geosystems Asia, introduced the possibility of combining business insights using real-world spatial data with smart manufacturing, and Hong Seok-kwan, President of Hexagon Manufacturing Intelligence, presented a smart manufacturing strategy based on Hexagon data. In addition, Kwon Eui-joong, General Manager of Hexagon Manufacturing Intelligence, presented a new paradigm in measurement technology and quality innovation, and Moon Jang-hee, Team Leader, introduced the industry standard for large-scale precision measurement using the Leica Absolute Tracker ATS800 and shared its applicability in manufacturing sites.

This event was attended by key clients and industry representatives, including the Korea Institute of Industrial Technology (KITECH) and DN Solutions, who shared practical application cases and collaborative achievements of Hexagon Solutions. Kim Seong-hyeon, a senior researcher at KITECH, shared his research findings, introducing high-precision robotic processing technology utilizing real-time feedback control linked to a laser tracker. Furthermore, Park Seong-cheol, Managing Director of DN Solutions, presented a case study of manufacturing process innovation based on Hexagon Solutions, suggesting ways to improve productivity and secure quality competitiveness in the field.

In addition to presentations by key stakeholders, there were demonstrations of Hexagon's measurement solutions, presentations of application cases by industry, exhibitions, and networking. The exhibition introduced solutions for each field, and in particular, precision measurement hardware such as the Leica Absolute Tracker ATS800, the high-speed digital coordinate measuring machine (CMM) MAESTRO, Absolute Arm, and SmartScan VR800 were showcased. In addition, CAD/CAM and Geomagic software such as ProplanAI, an AI and machine learning-based manufacturing process optimization technology, Geomagic Design X, which supports CAD conversion of 3D scan data, and Leica BLK2GO, which supports portable 3D scanning, and representative solutions from Leica Geosystems were introduced, and practical application methods of data-driven quality management and process innovation through reality capture and digital twins were presented.

Launched in May of this year, the ATS800 is a next-generation laser tracker capable of high-precision measurements from up to 40 meters without a reflector, enabling automated quality inspection of large structures. This makes it ideal for use in large-scale manufacturing environments such as aerospace and wind power. Unveiled the same month, the Maestro is a next-generation CMM with enhanced speed, precision, and connectivity. With its intuitive interface and cloud-based software, it streamlines quality inspection processes and significantly improves productivity.

“This event is meaningful because we can directly share Hexagon’s latest measurement solutions and various industrial application cases with domestic customers,” said Hong Seok-kwan, President of Hexagon Manufacturing Intelligence’s Metrology Business Unit. “Going forward, Hexagon will actively support customers in various manufacturing industries, such as automotive, aerospace, and electronics, to increase quality and productivity and accelerate digital innovation based on precision measurement and digital twins.”
