Kibo Signs Business Agreement with Gangwon Technopark

The Korea Technology Finance Corporation (Korea Technology Finance Corporation, Chairman Kim Jong-ho, hereinafter referred to as “KIBO”) announced on Tuesday the 9th that it signed a “Business Agreement for the Promotion of Open Technology Innovation of Small and Medium-sized Enterprises and the Fostering of Excellent Technology Companies” with the Gangwon Technopark Foundation (Director Heo Jang-hyeon, hereinafter referred to as “Gangwon TP”) at the Gangwon TP headquarters in Chuncheon.

This agreement was established to foster open technological innovation among small and medium-sized enterprises by linking the technological infrastructure and corporate support capabilities of both organizations and to establish a collaborative system to discover and foster excellent technology companies in the Gangwon region.

Since its establishment in 2003, Gangwon TP has been a regional innovation hub that has established industrial development policies tailored to the region's characteristics and provided support for businesses at each stage of growth in cooperation with the government, Gangwon Special Self-Governing Province, and related innovation organizations.

According to the agreement, Gangwon TP will discover excellent technology companies in the Gangwon region and recommend them to Kibo, and Kibo will link the recommended companies with comprehensive financial support, including ▲technology evaluation and preferential guarantee support ▲investment support ▲technology transfer and protection ▲management consulting, as well as customized scale-up programs.

Additionally, the two organizations plan to jointly establish a technology transfer cooperation system and strengthen the technological competitiveness of local SMEs and commercialization links by identifying technology transfer demand and activating the technology transaction market.

Gangwon TP Director Heo Jang-hyeon said, “This agreement will serve as a foundation for further growth for Gangwon-do companies by activating technology transactions within the province and establishing a customized support system for excellent technology companies.”

Kim Seong-tae, head of the Seoul Eastern Regional Headquarters of Kibo, said, “Through this agreement, a practical foundation has been established for the systematic growth of small and medium-sized enterprises in the Gangwon region.” He added, “Going forward, Kibo will expand collaboration with relevant local organizations to revitalize open technological innovation among small and medium-sized enterprises and actively contribute to the growth of the regional economy.”
