Alchera to Supply AI-Based Fire Detection System to DH Banpo Class in Seocho-gu, Seoul

Vision AI solution company Alchera (CEO Young-gyu Hwang) announced on the 23rd that it supplied 'FireScout', an AI-based video analysis fire detection system, to the underground parking lot of the DH Banpo Raclass apartment complex in Seocho-gu, Seoul.

With this introduction, DH Banpo Laclass now manages four electric vehicle charging stations within its underground parking lot, totaling 86 chargers. Real-time monitoring is possible through integration with up to 32 CCTVs. Fire Scout is an AI system that detects smoke and flames early, immediately alerting managers, enabling a rapid response before a large-scale fire spreads.

With the recent expansion of electric vehicles, the risk of fire in apartment complexes' underground parking lots has emerged as a social issue. Last year, an electric vehicle fire in an apartment complex in Cheongna, Incheon, resulted in approximately 3.8 billion won in damage. Experts are emphasizing the need for early detection through AI-based video analysis.

Na Yong-un, a researcher at the National Fire Research Institute, said, “Thermal imaging cameras have limitations due to parking lot field of view shadows and cost issues, but AI image analysis-based fire detection systems can capture early smoke faster and more accurately than existing detectors.” He added, “If the Incheon Cheongna fire had been detected early, the damage could have been minimized.”

Alchera's FireScout features AI-based early smoke and flame detection, integration with existing CCTV, real-time notifications and remote monitoring, and 119 emergency reporting capabilities. Its technological prowess has been recognized, receiving intelligent CCTV performance certification from the Korea Internet & Security Agency (KISA) and a Grade 1 GS certification from the Telecommunications Technology Association (TTA). The company also holds related patents.

In particular, it can be easily integrated with existing CCTV cameras, and when connected to 32 CCTV cameras, it can detect parking areas exceeding 8,000 pyeong (approximately 26,000 sq ft), offering competitive advantages in cost savings and operational efficiency. This has led to continued inquiries from various sites, including apartment complexes.

Alchera CEO Hwang Young-gyu said, “This supply will become a new model for fire safety management in apartment complexes,” and added, “Fire Scout can be applied not only to electric vehicle charging stations but also to fires in various indoor spaces, so we will continue to increase safety value across urban infrastructure in the future.”
