The Jeollanam-do Volunteer Center and the Jeollanam-do Saemaul Movement Association signed a business agreement.

The Jeollanam-do Volunteer Center (Director Kim Sang-gil) and the Jeollanam-do Saemaul Movement Association (Chairman Yang Jae-won) signed a business agreement to strengthen disaster response and community safety at the Jeollanam-do Saemaul Movement Association Hall on September 26.

About 30 people, including Jeonnam Volunteer Center Director Kim Sang-gil, Jeonnam Saemaul Association Chairman Yang Jae-won, and officials from both organizations, attended the signing ceremony and discussed ways to cooperate in disaster response.

Through this agreement, the two organizations agreed to cooperate on key tasks such as quickly connecting personnel and resources in the event of a disaster, jointly promoting disaster preparedness education and volunteer activities, and strengthening community safety nets and activating volunteerism.

Jeollanam-do Province suffers damage from natural disasters such as typhoons and torrential downpours every year. Saemaul members and volunteers have been providing rapid support and recovery efforts on the ground, ensuring the safety of residents. This agreement is expected to build on this experience and contribute to the establishment of a more systematic and sustainable disaster response system.

Yang Jae-won, Chairman of the Jeollanam-do Saemaul Movement, said, “Based on the experience we have accumulated in the field, this agreement will contribute to creating a disaster-resilient community,” and added, “We will do our best to become a Saemaul Movement that works together with the people of the province.”

Kim Sang-gil, director of the Jeollanam-do Volunteer Center, said, “Through this agreement, we have taken the first step toward creating a safe Jeollanam-do,” and added, “We will continue to work closely together to respond to disasters and promote volunteerism.”
