The Gyeonggi Center for Creative Economy and Innovation (CEO Won-kyung Kim, hereinafter referred to as the 'Gyeonggi Innovation Center') and CJ announced on the 2nd that they held the 3rd performance sharing meeting 'OnSTAGE' of the global startup incubation program 'CJ GLO!VentUs (hereinafter referred to as CJ GloVentus)' at the Pangyo Startup Zone on September 30th.
This event, jointly hosted by the Gyeonggi Innovation Center and CJ, and conducted in collaboration with Silicon Valley accelerator Alchemist, was designed to share the achievements of the third CJ Gloventus program and support networking between participating companies and global investors. Approximately 50 people, including domestic and international investors and startup representatives, attended the event.
CJ Globalus' third cohort consists of an eight-week customized accelerator program aimed at entering the US market and a "Silicon Valley Immersion Week." Participating companies met directly with investors and partners in Silicon Valley to refine their market entry strategies, and some are currently in investment discussions with local venture capitalists.
The performance sharing meeting was divided into two parts.
Part 1 featured a panel discussion titled "Conditions for Startups that Succeed in the Global Market," featuring global venture capital (VC) experts from Simsan Ventures, Draper Startup House, Storm Ventures, and Korea Capital. The experts identified the following as key elements for global success: founders' problem-solving and execution capabilities, a stable domestic market base, and a clear understanding of customers and the market. Storm Ventures Director Kim Min-joo advised, "With tens of trillions of won being invested in AI infrastructure in the U.S., a strategy that understands broader trends beyond regulations or exchange rates is necessary."
In Part 2, six participating startups presented their business achievements and future plans. The presenters were: Mediaiplus (medical AI), Hayanmind (in-app marketing SaaS), Second Team (overseas developer matching), SLS (XR/AI-based construction technology), Jejedu (AI math learning solution), and Shellpaspace (smart farm IoT). They held follow-up discussions with investors on-site to explore collaboration opportunities.
CJ Investment CEO Kim Do-han evaluated that “it is important that the participating companies have acquired practical capabilities and networks for entering the global market through this program,” and Gyeonggi Innovation Center CEO Kim Won-kyung stated that “we plan to support continuous growth even after the performance sharing session through follow-up support and operation of the CJ Globalus alumni network.”
