Jeju International Free City Development Center (Acting Chairman Kwak Jin-gyu, hereinafter JDC) announced on September 30 that A Tours Co., Ltd. (CEO Lee Seung-seop), a company located in Jeju Innovation Growth Center Route 330, was finally selected for the 'Deep Tech TIPS' program operated by the Ministry of SMEs and Startups.
A Tours Co., Ltd., which moved into the Jeju Innovation Growth Center in 2024, is developing "MEW (Magic Electro Water) technology," which utilizes hydroxyl radicals and electrical charges. It is focusing its research on its application across various industries, including semiconductor cleaning, air purifiers, and smart farms. Hydroxyl radicals are reactive oxygen species generated within the body and are used as a purifying agent to oxidize organic pollutants, converting them into carbon dioxide or water.
Deep Tech TIPS is a program hosted by the Ministry of SMEs and Startups, in which the government provides up to 1.5 billion won in research and development (R&D) funds to startups in 10 ultra-gap fields that have been invested in and recommended by private investment firms.
A Tours' technological prowess has garnered attention both domestically and internationally, winning the Innovation Award at CES, the world's largest IT and home appliance exhibition, held in Las Vegas, USA in January 2025. Furthermore, A Tours was selected as a recipient of the Ministry of SMEs and Startups' "Middle East Entry Support Project," receiving networking and sales channel development support, which is expected to increase its chances of entering the Middle Eastern market. Furthermore, A Tours was selected as a "Super Gap Startup 1000+ (DIPS 1000)" company in April 2025, which is expected to further accelerate R&D and business expansion for global market entry.
Lee Seung-seop, CEO of A Tours, said, “Since moving into the Jeju Innovation Growth Center, we have been steadily achieving results in the eco-friendly and smart mobility sectors,” and added, “Based on this successive achievement, we plan to further strengthen our international competitiveness.”
JDC has been providing support based on corporate needs, including infrastructure provision (office space provision) and investor attraction (IR support, accelerator (AC) and venture capital (VC) linkage) for companies located in Jeju Innovation Growth Center Route 330, including A Tours Co., Ltd.
A JDC official said, “In order to secure growth momentum for companies moving in, we plan to launch a management support project divided into eight areas, including labor, law, customs, accounting, marketing, and public relations, starting next month.”
