McNulty Bio Signs Strategic MOU with DRS

McNulty Bio (CEO Jeon Hyeon-su), a subsidiary of Korea McNulty, a total healthcare specialist, announced on the 24th that it has signed a strategic business agreement (MOU) for joint development and distribution of health functional foods with DRS (CEO Joo Sang-hyun), a specialized distribution company for health functional foods for pharmacies.

Through this agreement, the two companies will combine their core competencies to jointly develop differentiated functional health supplements and expand their market through joint branding and marketing. Specifically, DRS, with its expertise in pharmacy distribution and marketing, and McNulty Bio, possessing functional ingredient development and production technology, will collaborate to develop next-generation diet products and comprehensive health management products.

McNulty Bio is a bio-healthcare company specializing in the discovery and commercialization of scientifically evidence-based functional foods. Their proprietary black cumin extract powder, developed using proprietary technology, has been certified as an individually approved raw material by the Ministry of Food and Drug Safety. They are expanding their lineup of health functional foods utilizing this extract.

DRS distributes its products to approximately 5,000 pharmacies nationwide and focuses on providing reliable products to consumers who require specialized nutritional prescriptions. To achieve this, it has established a dedicated sales organization targeting pharmacists and provides evidence-based product information.

McNulty Bio CEO Jeon Hyeon-su said, “Existing GLP-1-based obesity treatments have side effects and are expensive, and commercially available body fat reduction foods are focused on simple fat reduction,” adding, “Black cumin is a functional food with proven body fat reduction efficacy and safety, and we will be able to accelerate its commercialization through collaboration with DRS.”

Former CEO Jeon added, “We will continue to develop premium health functional foods based on scientific evidence and pursue mutual growth through cooperation with DRS.”

DRS CEO Joo Sang-hyun said, “We expect that by combining the technological prowess, distribution networks, and planning capabilities of both companies, we will be able to stably supply health functional foods with scientific reliability and pharmacist expertise to the market.”
