AI virtual twin company Dassault Systèmes announced that it has officially won a project to link LCA (Life Cycle Assessment) and DPP (Digital Product Passport) with Cofinity X together with biomaterial startup Mycell.
Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) is a technique for calculating and managing greenhouse gas emissions throughout a product's entire lifecycle, while the Digital Product Passport (DPP) is a digital passport that must be submitted when manufactured goods are exported to other countries. Both systems are expanding, particularly in the European Union, and the response of SMEs is considered a key issue that directly impacts the integrity of DPPs for finished product companies, directly impacting national industrial competitiveness.
Dassault Systèmes implemented an end-to-end service system in collaboration with Tresworks, which handles data collection and analysis and international standard certification throughout the project, and IBCT, which handles system integration and global network connectivity.
Regarding this contract, Jeong Woon-seong, CEO of Dassault Systèmes Korea, said, “This will be an opportunity for Korean companies to utilize LCA and DPP as tools for strategic competitiveness rather than simply responding to regulations,” and “Dassault Systèmes will support strengthening the sustainability capabilities of domestic industries through data-based collaboration and platforms.”
“This project is an industrial model that implements a transparent ESG data ecosystem from the material stage,” said Mycell CEO Sasungjin. “Based on precise carbon and sustainability data for each product, we will grow into a trusted ESG materials company in the global market.”
“This project is the first case of connecting Korea and Europe through data and is a turning point for realizing sustainability in the global supply chain,” said Thomas Rönsch, CEO of Cofinity X. “We will support Korean companies to create new business opportunities through LCA and DPP.”
