The Korea Artificial Intelligence & Software Industry Association (Chairman Cho Jun-hee, KOSA) and the Korea SMEs and Startups Agency (Chairman Kang Seok-jin, KOSA) signed a business agreement on October 30th at KOSA's headquarters in Songpa-gu, Seoul, to support the transition of industrial, public, and regional AI (AX). Key officials from both organizations attended the signing ceremony.
This agreement was promoted with the aim of combining KOSA's expertise in the artificial intelligence (AI) and software (SW) industries with the Korea SMEs and Startups Agency's policy support capabilities to support the adoption of AI technology by small and medium-sized venture companies, and to revitalize the domestic AI industry and strengthen corporate capabilities.
Through this agreement, the two organizations plan to promote collaborative projects in three major sectors: industry, public, and regional, and expand a public-private partnership model that links policy and industry.
Key areas of cooperation in each sector are as follows. Industrial AX supports companies' transition to AI through comprehensive support in areas such as finance, exports, human resource development, and entrepreneurship. Public AX promotes automation and efficiency of internal tasks and innovation in AI-based administrative services. Regional AX aims to bridge the digital divide and identify and resolve regulatory and regulatory challenges through customized support.
Following the signing of the agreement, the two organizations plan to launch a joint cooperation system and implement its provisions. Korea SMEs and Startups Agency will establish the AX Innovation Committee to manage AI business and infrastructure transformation, while KOSA will participate as a private expert organization to reflect feedback from the field. Regular working-level meetings will be held to review implementation progress and explore additional cooperation opportunities.
KOSA Chairman Cho Jun-hee evaluated this agreement as "a case study that will expand opportunities for SMEs to utilize AI by linking policy and industry." Korea SMEs and Startups Agency Chairman Kang Seok-jin stated, "We plan to strengthen cooperation to ensure the competitiveness and sustainable growth of SMEs during the AI transition."
