NC AI Signs MOU with Army Artificial Intelligence Center

NCSoft's independent AI specialist organization, NC AI, announced on the 30th that it signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the Army Artificial Intelligence Center for Mutual Cooperation and Exchange. The signing ceremony was attended by officials from both organizations, including NC AI Global Business Division Director Kim Geun-kyo and Army Artificial Intelligence Center Director Kim Seong-sook.

This agreement aims to establish a cooperative partnership between the two organizations, contributing to the development of a strong AI-based, cutting-edge science and technology force and fostering mutual growth. In particular, the Army's 2040 Vision, which aims to establish an "AI-based manned-unmanned combined combat system," and NC AI's cutting-edge technology are expected to contribute to the advancement of the military's AI ecosystem.

Under the agreement, the two organizations will strengthen knowledge and information exchange for the advancement of artificial intelligence and pursue practical cooperation measures, including AI prototype development and expert training. NC AI will support the strengthening of the Army AI Center's technological capabilities, and the Army plans to operate a cooperative system with NC AI to jointly develop prototypes and expand technological exchanges.

The core of this agreement goes beyond simple technology transfer to establish an open cooperative system that fosters ongoing consultation and collaboration on areas of shared interest. Through this, the two organizations aim to proactively respond to the rapidly evolving AI technology landscape and jointly pursue customized AI development that takes into account the unique characteristics of the defense sector.

NC AI Global Business Division Director Kim Geun-gyo said, “Through strategic cooperation with the Army Artificial Intelligence Center, we will open a new chapter in the Republic of Korea’s defense AI innovation,” and “By combining NC AI’s technological prowess with the Army’s practical experience, we will build an independent defense AI system.”

Kim Seong-sook, head of the Army Artificial Intelligence Center, said, “Through this agreement, we will accelerate the acquisition of AI technology and contribute to the implementation of an elite army based on cutting-edge science and technology.”
