FuturePlay and Seoul National University's Startup Support Team Complete "2025 SNU Big Scale-Up" Program

Future Play (CEO Oh-hyung Kwon) announced on the 31st that it has completed the '2025 SNU Big Scale-up' program, which was jointly operated with the Seoul National University Startup Support Group.

This program is the first official collaboration case that supports all stages from technology verification to investment attraction for startups of Seoul National University faculty, students, and alumni, and Future Play ultimately made direct investments in two companies: Metafarmers and Xcentry.

"SNU Big Scale-Up" is an in-depth startup growth program that combines Seoul National University's technological entrepreneurship capabilities with FuturePlay's investment and value-up expertise. This year, the first program identified 20 innovative teams led by Seoul National University researchers and alumni. Seven companies were selected in the first phase. In the second phase, four companies were provided with intensive mentoring and investor relations (IR) opportunities.

In particular, Future Play invested in two companies participating in the second phase: the agtech startup 'Metafarmers', which develops agricultural automation robots, and the startup 'Xcentry', which possesses nanomaterial-based new material analysis technology, proving the potential of a performance-sharing, industry-academia linked investment model.

Among them, Xcentry was finally selected for the Ministry of SMEs and Startups' 'Deep-Tech TIPS' program after Futureplay's investment, securing additional research and development funds for technology commercialization.

Futureplay CEO Kwon Oh-hyung said, “This program with Seoul National University is a practical example of industry-academia cooperation that goes beyond simple entrepreneurship education and led to actual investment and commercialization.” He added, “We will continue to expand structural support that combines investment and value-added to help university technology startups grow in the market.”
