The Jeju Center for Creative Economy and Innovation (CEO Lee Byeong-seon, hereinafter referred to as the Jeju Center) held the "2025 Marine and Fisheries Accelerator Program Ocean-Value-Up Jeju Demo Day" at the Jeju Center's J-Space on October 31st. This event was designed to share the innovative achievements of promising startups in the marine and fisheries sector and provide investment opportunities.
The event was held as part of the Marine and Fisheries Acceleration Program, hosted by the Ministry of Oceans and Fisheries and in collaboration with the Jeju Special Self-Governing Province and the Jeju Center. Ten startups participated in this year's Demo Day, including Jeju Salt, Megaplan, Tobus, With Like, Enon, Culliver, Cheese Library, Tansan Oreum, Regenbadang, and Ocean Brick. The participating companies presented IR pitches on various topics utilizing Jeju's marine resources, including the utilization of lava seawater and seaweed, marine environmental protection, and improved fisheries productivity.
The judging panel, comprised of current venture capital and accelerator judges, comprehensively evaluated the business model's distinctiveness, investment readiness, and market competitiveness. As a result, Megaplan won the grand prize (15 million won), Tobus received the top prize (10 million won), and Ocean Brick and We Like each received the excellence prize (7 million won).
A Jeju Center official stated, “This Demo Day was an opportunity for startups to communicate directly with investors and receive practical feedback,” and added, “We plan to continue to pursue various programs to help innovative companies grow across the marine and fisheries industries.”
Since last year, the Jeju Center has been operating the local sector of the "Marine and Fisheries Accelerating Program" hosted by the Ministry of Oceans and Fisheries in collaboration with Jeju Island. This year, the Center has selected 10 companies and is providing them with up to 30 million won in commercialization funding, expert mentoring, customized consulting, and support for market development and promotion.
