Jeju Center and Nongshim Select Two Companies for "Pet Industry Open Ground"

The Jeju Center for Creative Economy and Innovation (CEO Lee Byeong-seon, hereinafter referred to as the Jeju Center) announced that it has selected two final startups through the '2025 Pet Industry Open Ground Program' promoted in collaboration with Nongshim and will begin joint product development and commercialization collaboration.

This program aims to jointly develop pet food and related specialized services and products utilizing Jeju's clean resources and materials, and to promote new trends in the pet industry. The selected startups are Bel Abel Farm Co., Ltd. and NNBE. They will develop non-meat pet food using Jeju's surplus agricultural and marine products and collaborate on content creation and marketing for pet food based on Jeju raw ingredients, respectively.

The selected companies will collaborate with Nongshim's Companion Team on product development, content production, and marketing until December. Subsequently, they will be considered for follow-up collaboration opportunities, including purchasing contracts and global expansion.

The Jeju Center plans to provide diverse support to startups to scale up, including ▲10 million won in PoC funding ▲acceleration programs for each stage of growth ▲opportunities to explore overseas markets and participate in exhibitions ▲review of center seed money and investment association connections.

A Jeju Center official said, “This program will not stop at short-term cooperation, but will serve as a stepping stone to sustainable pet industry innovation,” adding, “We are creating an innovation model for the local industrial ecosystem through open innovation in Jeju-specific fields such as AI, aerospace, and the pet industry.”
