AI-based rare disease diagnostic company 3billion (CEO Chang-won Geum) announced on the 11th that it will participate in the 'Mexican Genetics Association (Asociación Mexicana de Genética Humana, AMGH)' held in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico from the 12th to the 14th.
Celebrating its 50th anniversary this year, AMGH, Mexico's leading human genetics society, will co-host the 50th Mexican Society of Genetics and the 9th Latin American Society of Genetics. Twenty-two genetics organizations from 18 Latin American countries will participate in this event, discussing regional research and industry collaborations.
3billion will operate a dedicated booth at this conference, introducing its Whole Exome Sequencing (WES) and Whole Genome Sequencing (WGS)-based rare disease genetic diagnostic services, as well as its proprietary AI-based genetic mutation interpretation technology. The company plans to focus on enhancing diagnostic efficiency, improving healthcare accessibility, and building a collaborative network within Latin America through AI technology.
In Latin America, including Mexico, diagnostic infrastructure is concentrated in metropolitan areas, resulting in low access for patients outside the capital region. Consequently, demand for next-generation sequencing (NGS) and AI-based diagnostics is rapidly increasing. 3billion aims to leverage the scalability and efficiency of AI technology to expand precision medicine infrastructure in the region and contribute to reducing healthcare disparities.
“Mexico is a rapidly growing market, but there is still a large gap in diagnostic accessibility across regions,” said Geum Chang-won, CEO of 3billion. “Through the AMGH 50th Anniversary Conference, we will share 3billion’s AI-based rare disease diagnostic technology and present new diagnostic solutions to patients in medical blind spots.”
