Ring the Bell (CEO Kim Jong-cheol), a beauty brand embodying Korean sensibilities, announced on the 11th that it has secured seed investment from Mashup Ventures . Ring the Bell developed the "RESER Kimbap Roll Mask Pack," a reinterpretation of kimbap as a cosmetic product. Through this investment, Ring the Bell plans to expand its product lineup and accelerate its entry into the global market.
The "Resser Mask Pack" is rolled up like a kimbap, allowing for easy application by simply placing it on the forehead and unfolding it downward. Key ingredients include natural ingredients like radial seaweed extract, rice, carrot, and cucumber, as well as the Derma-CLERA complex, which enhances moisturizing, elasticity, and soothing effects.
CEO Kim Jong-cheol is a research and development expert with 20 years of experience, having previously served as CTO of Genic, a first-generation Korean mask pack company, and CEO of Colmask. He has developed numerous hit products, including the hydrogel mask pack (aka "Hayumi Pack"), and holds over 50 patents, having produced over 1.5 billion mask packs. He stated, "We will reinterpret Korean ingredients with modern technology to create differentiated products that will thrive in the global market."
Following the launch of the Kimbap Roll Mask Pack, Ring the Bell has launched a seaweed-themed collagen mask pack and is currently developing a second-generation hydrogel mask pack utilizing the traditional Korean ingredient "Nuruk." Notably, the product has demonstrated the effectiveness of using Nuruk-derived bacteria to improve redness and reduce skin temperature, leading to its selection for the Ministry of SMEs and Startups' TIPS program.
In Sang-hyeok, a partner at Mashup Ventures who led the investment, said, “Ring the Bell is a team that understands the entire industry, from raw material development to manufacturing and distribution,” and evaluated that “there is a high possibility that it will grow quickly with its unique concept amidst the expanding global demand for K-beauty.”
