GENON (formerly Minds & Company, CEO Seok-Tae Ko), a company specializing in generative AI solutions, announced on the 18th that it had won a contract for the 'AI agent platform and work automation development' project from Korea Midland Power Company.
Last year, GENON launched Hi-KOMI, the first generative AI service for a power generation company, at Korea Midland Power Company (KPW). This second phase of the project, which will last approximately 14 months, aims to enhance Hi-KOMI's functionality and establish a company-wide AI agent-based work system.
The project consists of three areas: a specialized AI agent platform for Korea Midland Power, a business automation system, and mobile AI service integration. The specialized AI agent platform links user work instructions with the Model Context Protocol (MCP) and creates an environment for immediate use of various AI services. The business automation system extends beyond general administrative tasks such as accounting voucher creation and schedule management to key areas such as power generation, safety, and management, promoting company-wide efficiency.
Mobile support will also be strengthened. The Hicomi service, previously primarily PC-based, will be integrated with Korea Midland Power's mobile groupware to enable smartphone access. Furthermore, the latest generative AI technologies will be introduced and machine learning and deep learning-based predictive models will be developed to optimize coal blending operations, broadening the scope of AI utilization.
The core of this project is the application of next-generation AI agent technology based on "Actionable AI." GENON plans to implement a structure that automatically completes actual tasks by applying technologies such as OneAgent, which allows humans to directly recognize and manipulate computer screens.
GENON CEO Ko Seok-tae stated, "This contract is a reflection of the positive evaluation of the Hicomi service, GENON's technological prowess, and our experience with power plant business environments." He emphasized, "By building an AI agent platform, we will accelerate the digital transformation of the entire power generation business and enhance work efficiency and productivity."
