The Seoul Women's and Family Foundation announced on the 20th that it signed a business agreement with the Korean Women's Communication Association at the Seoul Women's Plaza to foster a gender-equal media environment in the digital age and strengthen cooperation in women's and family policy research.
This agreement was established to jointly address various gender-related issues arising in the rapidly evolving digital and media landscape and to promote research and policy development to promote gender equality values. The recent expansion of individual media and the increased consumption of AI-based content have exacerbated issues such as gender conflict, hate speech, and distorted representation in the digital space, further increasing the need for collaboration between public institutions and academia.
Through this agreement, the two organizations plan to pursue various cooperative projects, including analyzing gender issues in digital media, establishing a socio-cultural foundation for gender equality, hosting joint academic events such as academic conferences, seminars, and forums, disseminating research results to policy fields, media literacy education and research development, and activating knowledge exchange based on a researcher network.
Park Jeong-sook, CEO of the Seoul Women and Family Foundation, said, “Gender inequality issues in the digital society are becoming increasingly complex and detailed,” and added, “I hope that this agreement will strengthen cooperation between the public and academia, thereby contributing to the creation of a healthy media environment and policy development.”
