The Korea Institute for Gender Equality Promotion and Education signed a business agreement with the Supreme Prosecutors' Office.

The Korea Institute for Gender Equality Promotion and Education (Director Samhwa Kim) announced on the 26th that it signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with the Supreme Prosecutors' Office to strengthen the prosecution's gender awareness education and the training of counselors for sexual harassment and sexual violence victims.

Through this agreement, the two organizations agreed to pursue practical cooperation, including: ▴cooperation in education to spread awareness of gender equality and violence prevention; ▴cooperation in developing gender awareness education and programs for investigative agencies; ▴cooperation in training to strengthen the capacity of counselors for sexual harassment and sexual violence; and ▴other matters related to mutual work support and promotion of friendship.

Through this agreement, the two organizations aim to enhance the level of awareness within the prosecution service and strengthen its capacity to prevent and respond to sexual harassment and sexual violence, and plan to continuously expand cooperation to create a healthy and safe organizational culture.

Kim Sam-hwa, the president of the Korea Institute for Gender Equality Promotion and Education, said, “This agreement will solidify cooperation in gender equality and violence prevention education, which will bring about real changes in strengthening gender sensitivity and the capacity of counselors within the Supreme Prosecutors’ Office.” She added, “The two organizations will continue to cooperate to contribute to the realization of a society where everyone is respected and safe.”
