Weisen Wins Intelligent Startup Award at KIISS 2025 Fall Conference

AI Medtech company Waysen announced on the 31st that it won the Intelligent Startup Award at the '2025 Fall Academic Conference' hosted by the Korea Institute of Intelligent Information Systems (KIISS) on the 28th based on its AI endoscopy solution 'WAYMED ENDO'.

This academic conference, co-hosted by the Gyeonggi Provincial Government, the Next Generation Convergence Technology Research Institute, and Yonsei University's AI Innovation Institute, was themed "AI and Generative Genomics: Next-Generation Convergence Technology and Regional Innovation Ecosystems." KIISS conducted a screening process to select companies with technological competitiveness amidst the trend of AI driving innovation across industries and society.

At the conference, Weissen CEO Kim Kyung-nam delivered a keynote speech on "AI Endoscopy and the Future of Screening." He explained the changes AI-based endoscopy technology will bring to the medical field and the shift in the screening paradigm. He emphasized that real-time AI image analysis technology is assisting endoscopists, providing an endoscopic examination environment with greater accuracy and quality.

Waysen's award is considered an official recognition of the technological prowess and clinical value of its AI endoscopic solution, "WayMed Endo." This solution features real-time detection of abnormal lesions during gastrointestinal and colonoscopic examinations, and is being widely adopted across various settings, including major university hospitals, regional hospitals, and local medical institutions. Furthermore, active adoption and clinical research are underway in Asian countries like Vietnam and Thailand, strengthening its competitiveness in the global market.

CEO Kim Kyung-nam evaluated this award as a meaningful achievement that recognized the company's technological prowess and expandability not only in the medical field but also from an engineering perspective, and said that Waymed Endo will redefine the standards for endoscopic examinations and continue to secure competitiveness in the global market.
