Himpel (CEO Kim Jeong-hwan), a ventilation appliance specialist, announced on the 3rd that it has been newly designated as a family-friendly certified company by the Ministry of Gender Equality and Family. The certification is valid for three years, from December 1, 2025, to November 30, 2028.
Family-Friendly Certification is a national certification granted by the Ministry of Gender Equality and Family to companies that systematically operate systems to support work-family balance. It is an indicator of improving the quality of life of employees and evaluating corporate sustainability.
Himpel received this certification based on various family-friendly management practices, including operating a childbirth and childcare support system, improving work and vacation systems, operating family leisure activities and participation programs, providing health and psychological support for employees and their families, and improving organizational culture and strengthening inclusiveness.
The company received high marks for its comprehensive system, which goes beyond basic evaluation criteria and includes bonus points. The company has strengthened career-level support, including childbirth and childcare subsidies, flexible working hours for childcare, and long-term service leave. Furthermore, the company has established a system that adapts to changing family circumstances through family-friendly leisure programs and housing assistance. Furthermore, the company has enhanced the competitiveness of its system by implementing a target ratio of female managers and a program to support children preparing for the College Scholastic Ability Test (CSAT).
A Himpel official said, “We have been pursuing family-friendly management with the belief that it is not simply welfare, but a core element of corporate competitiveness,” and added, “With this certification as an opportunity, we will continue to strengthen our organizational culture and support systems so that our employees can achieve a balance between work and life.”
