The Korea Institute for Startup & Entrepreneurship Development (KIED) (Director Jongpil Yoo) announced on December 8 that it signed a business agreement with the Korea Transportation Safety Authority (Chairman Yongsik Jeong) to foster startups in the mobility sector and revitalize the regional win-win cooperation ecosystem.
This agreement aims to strengthen joint efforts to discover and foster innovative startups in the mobility sector, while also building a shared growth ecosystem that fosters the sustainable growth of small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs).
In particular, the two organizations plan to support the adoption of artificial intelligence (AI) solutions and provide proof-of-concept (PoC) opportunities for mobility startups through the newly launched "Mobility AI Frontier Incubating Support Project." This will enhance the commercial viability of technology-based startups and foster an environment where industrial applicability can be verified.
In addition, to foster a sustainable, symbiotic ecosystem, the Korea Transportation Safety Authority decided to participate in the joint growth project hosted by the Korea Institute for Startup & Entrepreneurship Development and share its experience and know-how in sustainable management disclosure with the Korea Institute for Startup & Entrepreneurship Development.
Yoo Jong-pil, president of the Korea Institute for Startups & Entrepreneurship Development, said, “Through this collaboration, a foundation has been established for startups in the mobility technology field to grow by utilizing the Korea Transportation Safety Authority’s specialized infrastructure and technical support.” He added, “We will continue to work together so that both organizations can grow together as public institutions that lead startup support and mutually beneficial cooperation.”
