Futureplay (CEO Kwon Oh-hyung) announced on the 10th that it had received a group award as a member of the Capstone Partners Consortium at the "Scale-up TIPS 2nd Consortium Awards" hosted by the Ministry of SMEs and Startups. The awards ceremony took place on the 9th at the Raum Art Center in Gangnam-gu, Seoul. The Ministry of SMEs and Startups selected the outstanding consortium based on factors such as private investment capacity, technology development (R&D) support capabilities, and global performance.
The Capstone Partners consortium, comprised of Capstone Partners, Future Play, Mirae Science and Technology Holdings, Spark Labs, and KENTECH (Korea Institute of Energy Technology), received high praise for establishing a full-cycle support system that encompasses startups from the investment stage to R&D and global expansion.
FuturePlay contributed to the consortium's overall operational performance by identifying companies applying for Scaleup TIPS, developing business plans and investment strategies, and connecting with its global network. In particular, FuturePlay was officially recognized for its efforts to identify early-stage and deep-tech startups and design investment, R&D, and global strategies as a unified growth path. This approach is also considered to align with the Scaleup TIPS vision of a private-sector-led, government-backed follow-up support structure.
Song Eun-gang, CEO of Capstone Partners, emphasized the continued collaboration between the consortium, saying, "This award is the result of the combined expertise of each organization producing positive results." Kwon Oh-hyung, CEO of FuturePlay, stated, "This award is a testament to the achievements of the entire consortium and acknowledges FuturePlay's continued efforts to discover and invest in deep-tech and technology startups." He added, "We will support the global expansion of Korean startups through a growth strategy that links investment, R&D, and global scale-up."
