The Seoul Women and Family Foundation (CEO Park Jeong-sook) announced on the 8th that it signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with the Korea Women in IT Entrepreneurs Association to support work-life balance and spread a gender-equal organizational culture in female IT companies.
This agreement aims to establish a public-private joint response system to reduce the risk of career interruptions due to long working hours and technological changes faced by female talent in the IT industry, and to establish a work-life balance and gender equality organizational culture.
The two organizations agreed to cooperate in the following areas: ▲creating a work-life balance and gender equality organizational culture in women-owned IT companies; ▲expanding participation in the work-life balance point system in small and medium-sized enterprises and discovering best practices; ▲providing capacity building training for female employees and linking internships for women on career breaks; ▲providing consulting on preventing sexual harassment and sexual violence in the workplace and utilizing gender equality education content; and ▲promoting joint projects to revitalize women's economic activities.
At the agreement site, the Seoul Women and Family Foundation's 'Women Tech Education Platform (Women Its)' and 'Women Up Project' internship support, 'Work-Life Balance Consulting', and digital safety education projects were introduced, and the Korea IT Women Entrepreneurs Association expressed its will to promote joint projects by sharing measures to address technology-based social issues such as deepfake response and AI ethics forum.
Park Jeong-sook, head of the Seoul Women and Family Foundation, said, “The IT field has great potential for female talent growth, so it is essential to foster a work-life balance and gender equality organizational culture.” She added, “I hope that the two organizations will join forces to strengthen practical support for women in IT companies and contribute to creating a safe and equal environment.”
