Spoon Labs Biglu Establishes Los Angeles Branch

Vigloo, a short drama platform operated by global content platform Spoon Labs (CEO Choi Hyuk-jae), announced on the 10th that it is establishing its first overseas branch in Los Angeles, USA and will begin full-scale conquest of the North American market.

The US branch was established with the goal of developing original IPs that reflect the tastes of North American viewers and establishing a local production system. As of the first half of 2025, Bigloo generated over 70% of its total revenue from overseas, and plans to more than double its US original content production by 2026.

Biglu is strengthening its content tailored to North American viewers by establishing a system that allows for local execution of all stages of story development, casting, and production. It is introducing the "K-short drama format," which combines detailed emotional depth and character-driven storytelling with the fast-paced rhythm characteristic of short-form dramas, to the US market.

To this end, we are forming a team centered around experts from content companies such as CJ ENM, Disney, and Coupang Play, and are collaborating with local creators, screenwriters, and production companies to develop short-form scenarios in the Romance and YA (Young Adult) genres.

We plan to establish a two-way pipeline between the AI and post-production team at our Korean headquarters and our US branch, and expand joint production by supporting shortened production periods and cost reductions through the use of AI in production processes such as visual effects (VFX), sets, and locations.

Choi Hyuk-jae, CEO of Spoon Labs, said, “Establishing a branch is not simply about entering the market, but rather about establishing an independent production and development system in the global short drama market.” He added, “By developing original IPs in North America and expanding our production partner network, we plan to more than double our production scale by 2026.”
