The Ministry of SMEs and Startups held a "Venture Future Vision Forum" to present policy directions for K-Big Tech's leap forward.

The Ministry of SMEs and Startups (Minister Han Sung-sook) announced on the 11th that it held the "Venture Future Vision Forum" at COEX in Seoul to commemorate the 30th anniversary of the venture and 20th anniversary of the Mother Fund and to discuss the future direction of Korean venture and startups. The forum was designed to reflect on the achievements of the domestic venture ecosystem and explore strategies for Korean ventures to leap forward as global leaders amidst intensifying global technological competition.

This year's event broke away from the traditional formal forum format and functioned as a "collective intelligence platform," incorporating the experiences and insights of innovative entrepreneurs into policy. Se-ju Jeong, CEO of global healthcare company Noom, was a special guest speaker, sharing his experiences on the startup process and entering the global market. Following the open discussion, domestic and international venture entrepreneurs and investors engaged in a lively discussion on key issues in the venture landscape, such as securing technological sovereignty and attracting global talent.

Minister Han Seong-sook presented a future strategy midway through the forum, titled "From Ventures and Startups to Unicorns: K-Big Tech." Key directions outlined included: ▲Expanding AI infrastructure, including high-performance GPUs; ▲Establishing regional advanced startup hubs; ▲Strengthening global-level compensation systems; and ▲Establishing a virtuous cycle of venture capital. The strategy emphasized the role of venture capital as a growth engine for the national economy.

At the end of the event, a declaration ceremony was held, where attendees solidified their vision for a venture nation that will lead South Korea for the next 30 years. Minister Han Seong-sook stated, "The history of ventures has been shaped by technology, but it was the entrepreneurs' spirit of challenge that drove that technology." She added, "We will use the voices from the field at today's forum as policy milestones to build a venture ecosystem competitive in the global market."

The Ministry of SMEs and Startups plans to soon announce measures to support the next stage of growth in the venture ecosystem, reflecting the diverse opinions discussed at this forum.
